ASEC is back on his self-titled imprint with five mesmerising techno cuts featuring remixes from PoleGroup’s Kwartz and Soma’s Temudo.
ASEC is a Berlin-based artist and label project centred around raw, yet hypnotic dancefloor-oriented electronic music. To Berlin via Manchester, ASEC’s productions focus on tension and release with tracks that build momentum and intensity. As a Producer, Live Act and DJ, ASEC delivers his driving and expansive electronic music vision, consisting of dark textures, idiosyncratic melodies and dynamic drum sounds. With releases exclusively on his label, ASEC’s tracks have acquired support from household names like Marcel Dettmann, Slam, Henning Baer and SNTS resulting in a live show debut at Tresor in 2020.
‘Small Collisions’ kicks off with elastic synths shimmering off the resounding kicks and crunchy modulations before ‘High Tool’ maneuverers between hypnotic atmospheres and dark, ominous textures balanced with ghostly pads and thudding percussion with emphatic frequencies. Up next, Looping transcendental rhythms, gloopy fx and entrancing leads peppered with undulating minimalism takes focus in the ‘F Brexit’.
Madrid-based artist and PoleGroup, Mord, Semantica and Warm Up affiliate Kwartz delivers a pounding remix of ‘Small Collisions’ as the carnivorous percussion bounces with the raw oscillations, fizzing, industrial components and dramatic machine sonics. Temudo is part of a new generation of techno artists with releases on Soma, Modularz, Clergy, Synewave and more, rounds off in exquisite style with a swinging interpretation of ‘High Tool’ fusing ripping rhythms, frazzled soundscapes and penetrating textures.

ASEC ‘ASEC004’ is out on ASEC on 2nd April 2021 (Vinyl) and 14th May 2021 (Digital).

Dissident is a Barcelona-based outfit that supports upcoming talent to established names and has featured artists like Dani Sbert, Bernardo Hangar, Drucal, Linear Phase, and Drop-E.

Obseth, also known as Víctor Alvar, contributes to a new VA commemorating Dissident's three-year release anniversary, following several appearances prior. His music has also been released on Pushmann's N&N Records, CommonSense, Diffuse Reality, and Subsist. As a DJ, his skills have earned him alongside bills with Chlär, Raffaele Attanasio, Oxygeno, Insolate, and ANNĒ.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "Lejos de la Meta" with a sci-fi and grooving sound. Deep kicks and sparse, haunting elements share the airwaves with modular tones for a menacing but dance floor ready style of heady introspection.

Once upon a time in a distant place and in a distant time, lived a boy named Leon. Leon grew up in a land where legends of past battles between humans and machines, lead by the fierce TCX2290, were strong. It was said, victory of the humans over the robots was conducted by the mighty General Ostkröf III. Leon did not go along well with the other children, and spent most of his time alone, exploring the country side, imagining he was the General fighting for human survival. One day, he discovered the remains of what seemed to be a hidden sleeping robot…

'As We Fought Iron Giants' is the soundtrack to the story of ourselves not wanting to leave childhood as we grow into adults, fighting imaginary demons. Music in itself is a mean of therapy and channels the tremendous amount of one’s imagination. This twelve track techno journey is Moteka's debut album on French techno label @skryptom-records, and is beautifully illustrated by world-renowned artist Nicolas Delort.

Things have been evolving rapidly during the past months, it feels like the time has stopped, paused at one point. It’s in such a challenging time that creativity has to make it through more than ever. It can’t stop, it won’t stop. We think of music as a perpetual motion, a never-ending evolution, that’s why we feel we can’t stop the music now, and we’re thrilled to introduce you to a new series on our digital catalog, the ”Secret Keywords Split Series”. One EP of four tracks, two artists each release, many talented new faces among the old appearances of the label. We chose two skilled producers for this issue: WHT MOTH and Szmer, both delivering their different vision of techno on “Sample & Hold EP” for this very-first release of the Split Series.

The second part of 2020’s ‘Converge - Part I’, a body of music which saw enthusiastic responses from the likes of Surgeon, Lauren Flax, DJ Bone, Anthony Parasole and Jus-Ed to name just a few, sees the Berlin-based DJ/Producer and dancer generously expand on and refine his slick vision of techno on one of electronic music’s key labels.

By encompassing warm and soulful textures within club focussed grooves, Hester continues to explore the far reaches of both the musical cues picked up from his years as a dancer and formative time spent in the Midwest US, connecting influences from Chicago, Minneapolis, and Detroit.

Stretched across a double LP, the album opens with the spacious and icy ‘Stealth’ followed by the machine communications of ‘Artificial Intelligence’. The B-side sees a whirlwind of the synthetic in ‘Instant’ before ‘Contact’ swiftly picks up the pace with it’s warbling pads and slippery percussion.

On the second disc, ‘Circadian Slip’, custom-built for dancefloor pandemonium, continues with off-kilter leads and vocal snippets before ‘Shadows’ brings eerie syncopation to the proceedings. In the final stretch, ‘Silver’ maintains steady energy into the twilight hours, and the gorgeous ‘Wonder’ closes out the LP beautifully, providing a soft landing to an exceptional journey through Hester’s sound.
