BL Radio EP 105 - First hour is a guest mix of techno deepness from F.Synthetic aka Jeri R. a Los Angeles native selector, producer, curator behind Dublab radio show "Zero.Dead.Space" and co-manger at FeM Synth Lab, a local non-profit hardware lending library and workshop series prioritizing marginalized genders. BL Rezident Kosmik follows up with an all vinyl mix of classic midwest techno sonics, ending with some more recent tracks from BL family members Andy Garcia of Cryovac, Max Watts, & Esteban Adame. Wise portrays a deep sense of knowledge and maturity in his sound, devising atmospheric soundscapes with a raw but modern touch, captivating the listener from beginning to end. His sets demonstrate this to full effect, consistently maintaining a powerful sonic trademark whilst possessing the innate ability to create hip-shaking poly-rhythms and multi-deck layers.

Before discovering the world of electronic music, Wise came from a background of drum and percussion which was guided by his Iranian father who was a professional drummer. This influence plays a huge part in shaping the foundation of techno that he crafts.

Wise’s 'quality over quantity’ mindset has seen him become a mainstay on influential labels such as Mote Evolver and BluePrint which has led him to work with some of the most respected names in the industry. His pure but passionate approach to music has given him the honour of gracing institutions such as Berghain and Fabric and earned him a residency at the esteemed underground Eerste Communie parties hailing from The Netherlands.

Wise retrata un profundo sentido del conocimiento y la madurez en su sonido, ideando paisajes sonoros atmosféricos con un toque crudo pero moderno, cautivando al oyente de principio a fin. Sus sets lo demuestran con creces, manteniendo constantemente una potente marca sonora y poseyendo al mismo tiempo la habilidad innata de crear ritmos polirrítmicos que sacuden la cadera y capas de varios platos.

Antes de descubrir el mundo de la música electrónica, Wise provenía del mundo de la batería y la percusión, guiado por su padre iraní, que era baterista profesional. Esta influencia desempeña un papel fundamental a la hora de dar forma a los cimientos del techno que elabora.

La mentalidad de Wise de "calidad por encima de cantidad" le ha convertido en un pilar de sellos influyentes como Mote Evolver y BluePrint, lo que le ha llevado a trabajar con algunos de los nombres más respetados de la industria. Fast. Impulsive. Techno. Three words to establish and define what the artist known as Egotot is all about. The young musician, hailing from the deep south of Germany, sets quite the pace when it comes to his vision of electronic music, regarding both tempo as well as quality. His beats, be in the studio or in the DJ booth, appear to come and arrange themselves seemingly with no effort. A Rave-infected sonic testing ground without ever feeling like a simple Rave pastiche. A vision of Techno that is obviously inspired by its sound of the 90s, but neither exceedingly aggressive, nor excessively happy.

Egotot has a special taste for rugged, up-tempo grooves which demand their own time to breathe and reveal their power. A sonic all-purpose weapon to be used on, for, and by the dance floor. However, his sense for music doesn’t stop at the edge of dancefloor-oriented Rave. It goes far beyond, right to and through the sometimes more and sometimes less subtle tides of electronic music.

This exemplarily reflects in his very own imprint, Schimmer Records, which he founded in 2019. The label has, in a rather short period of time, already evolved to a sonic reservoir of all different shades, all of which share a commonality – quality in production, love to detail, and an undeniable appeal to avid devotees of electronic music of all kinds. 

There is nothing confusing about Egotot’s take on music. It is clean-cut, it is straightforward, it is always effective. The Industrial clout, the fast groove, the merciless rigor – this is how Techno should sound in the 21st century, and Egotot is its perfect avatar.
