What they selected demonstrates the incredible production quality, techno construction know how, and wide spectrum of creativity that is born from this unique online community. Teragon - Vniversi Fines Iter [LP]

Split #1 marks the debut of a new vinyl series, to be hosted on the Various Artists catalogue of Pi Electronics. The split series will be bringing two artists on the same vinyl, with this very first release presenting music by Greek producers Fragedis and Nemmett.

Coming from different backgrounds of electronic music, prolific figure of the Cretan islands’ dance scene, Fragedis and one of the Athenean founding members of the ᾽π᾽ crew, Nemmett, contribute their sharpest weapons to this release.

On the A side, Fragedis delivers a techno/breaks cut of dystopian melodies and vocal samples with his opening track “Flantza”. His second track, “Klirish” blends industrial leaning percussion with Detroit techno flavored synths.

On the flip side, Nemmett returns with his trademark industrial / breaks sound, in a hypnotic, rap vocal atmosphere with the track “Altars”. His broken beat influences go more noise with his second track “Teeth”, which concludes the B side of the vinyl.

Exclusive: The “excerpt” version of 'Teeth' is available only on the Pi Electronics Bandcamp page. This is also the track we premiere today; An excellent intro piece, characterised by powerful and obscure textures, ceremonial drums, edgy pads, all intertwined with its diabolic vocals. 'Teeth' (excerpt) is an imposing soundtrack of a dystopia.

NYX RITUAL XXXV - CYBERIAN

EXIST No.17 brings the first appearance of ANTS & Erica Van Berger. 

ANTS is the brainchild of the Exist Festival founder and Harara Records curator ODDZ (Odai Masri) and Italian producer Francesco Presotto (Soulless, Moral Excerpt, Skogen, Agent 15).

The duo is a spiritual homage to techno/industrial project British Murder Boys, employing pounding beats and devastating kick-drums in a harsh soundcape informed by classic techno and modern industrial elements in order to narrate the political and social panorama of Palestine. Here techno music rediscovers its social roots going well beyond the simple attraction to dance numbers, albeit the core elements of the genre are not forgotten, as well as hypnotizing tour-de-force.

Dark ambiances, abrasive synths, rhythmic locomotives are the weapons of choice for an outfit determined to make its mark on the current underground scene. ANTS is the sound of a harsh reality, of hope and courage amidst daily violence and war, of a flame that still burns against all odds.

Based in São Paulo, Erica Van Berger’s selections travel from slow, heavy and dark industrial music to drum n bass, tribal and experimental electronics. Her mixes are more based in a mood and sound exploration than in a specific genre.

Exist Palestine brings forward the highly talented local artists and the brightest musical visionaries in the global electronic music scene. Exist seeks to build bridges between international artists, Palestinian sound innovators, the many that have been displaced, and musicians who are unable to attend the festival due to politically set restrictions. The lineups consist of artists who participated in Exist Festival 2019 as well as the ones who will be invited to play the next editions.
