Well, it’s been a hot minute since we last gathered the ever expanding Four40 roster together for a full blown compilation release, but with Smokey Bubblin B offering up such an attractive selection of UKG artists, we would have been fools not steam ahead with this one!

Smokey Bubblin B himself leads the way with this one, including two potent originals from himself amongst the tracklisting, along with a mellow 2-steppy roller entitled ‘Lunar’ alongside Tuff Culture, who also features two storming originals on the track listing. Following up a fantastic year of releasing, Kastle also gets involved with two top notch compositions by the name of ‘In My Mind’ and ‘Keep It Tight’ alongside the legendary Mind Of The Dragon. 

The roster for this one then expands dramatically as we are introduced to original heaters from the likes of El-B, Royal Flush, Minista, Jared Jackson, Hybrid Theory, Chris Lorenzo, Ill Phill, Pete Graham, Perception, Might, Perception and Stixy D, with a cheeky Doctor Nick remix on top, all culminating in one of the finest selections we have ever assembled. PINDER - 001 - Digital EP clips

A live recording of the late Alex T, from Pleasure Club on 18th October 2019 at The Lion & Lamb.

Ahead of his debut at fabric this weekend, on 28th January 2020 we learned the terribly sad news that Alex T had passed away at the age of 25. 

Alex was the quintessential unsung hero of our scene. He worked behind the counter at Tribe Records in Leeds, hosted a show on Rinse FM, promoted a party called On Rotation (which was soon to become a label), was a regular at all the festivals as a punter or artist, and was also a really incredible DJ as this mix will testify.

Our birthday celebrations are now dedicated to his memory. For all three parties we will hold him close to our hearts and celebrate him through the music. Alex was really excited to play at fabric, and he will. During what would have been his set time (12-1am) we will play this recording of his appearance at Pleasure Club from last year which perfectly showcases his incredible skills behind a pair of turntables.

Alex, your memory will undoubtedly live on. The countless lives you touched through the music will go on for eternity and we will be thinking of you every step of the way. Thank you for everything. <3
