At a very young age, when most were just learning about the birds and the bees, Brian was, already, learning how to build and keep dance floors.  At the age of 12, his older sister, Maryann, taught him how to spin vinyl since her boyfriend, at the time, was in a mobile DJ group, Unique Musique, and they used their parent’s garage as storage for all the DJ equipment, crates of vinyl, speakers, lighting, cords, truss bars, etc.  Although Brian started off playing freestyle, very soon after, he became the newest member of the mobile DJ group, at the age of 14, and started handling the old school hip hop sets at weddings, school dances, hall parties, house parties, and even a few small clubs/bars (he was only allowed to stay behind the decks and in the backroom since he was under age).

After, truly & thoroughly, experiencing the West Coast rave scene, in the 90s, and immersing himself in the music & culture through dance, he fell deep in love with house music and, quickly, worked his way up the local dj circuit through hours & hours of record shopping, strategic networking, event planning, and rigorous self promotion.  Because of this, Brian was one of the first, and one of the few, local djs to become a resident for the legendary weekly party, Remedy, which propelled him, exponentially, to his next level. 

In the most opportune environment, Brian Salazar has taken from the depths of the dance floor to cavernous record crates and created a sound all his own. More groovy, moveable, and undeniable than most, it is in his capacity to interact and control the sound setting that keeps fans crawling back at 5am and beyond.  In the past decade and a half, Brian Salazar has advanced from his first major underground event to getting signed by Devotion Records, getting signed by Meow Ent., getting signed by Undefeated, going on his first International tour in Asia, going on tour with Kaskade, playing at the Winter Music Conference in Miami multiple seasons, playing the Love Parade back to back years, playing on live radio stations such as WILD 94.9, KZSU 90.1, VAULT RADIO 104.9, MAGIC 89.9 (Phillipines), WHIV 102.3 (New Orleans), 89.9 (Punta Cana, Dominican Republic), 94.1 (Santiago, Chili), playing on internet shows such as centricmusic.com, pressureradio.com, ssradiouk.com, dive radio, undefeated sessions, and d3ep radio network, open bar radio, club sabroso radio, baltic radio, & m4g radio, starting his own house collective called the HOUSEMEN, starting his own female house collective called the HOUSEWIVES, and becoming a resident at the legendary Endup where he has thrown several monthly events, consistently, for the past 18+ years straight. To add to his movement, currently, he is the main man behind ELEMENTS OF HOUSE After Hours and co-founder of the annual campout, Soul Camp.

Years of commitment to soul searching, ear tuning, collecting vinyl, and downloading gives him the ideal collection to cater and command crowds at any hour, at any event, venue, city, or country. This incredible rise derives from the flirtatious vocals, intellectual instrument solos, and groovy bass lines he brings together, flawlessly, during any and every set.

Dedicated to music as a whole from jazz, disco, soul, R&B, funk, reggae, old school, rap, classical, and salsa, Brian Salazar has fine-tuned his ear to introduce a sound that is refreshing, intellectual, and catchy.  Additionally, the background of being a dancer has elevated his perspective on music selection and solidified his reputation as a crowd pleaser. With over 30 years under his belt, Brian has proven that he has a keen sense of diversified soul and a deep understanding that track selection, skills, programming, promotion, and solid people & communication skills, while being honest & humble, are essential.
