The Mbuki Mvuki Movement is here to encourage and support Flinta artists. To help close the gap step by step. And this month we have the honor to enjoy the unique sound of Gela. This powerhouse of a woman just became a mother a month ago! In the last months of her pregnancy playing in clubs with loud basses was obviously not an option anymore, so she started exploring other creative processes on music making and mixing at home. This Mbuki Mvuki episode was made with a 9 month big belly! <3

Gela is currently based in the beautiful mountains of San Sebastian in Spain after living pretty much all over the country. Her DJ career started around 21 years ago, when friends opened a bar and asked Gela to provide the music vibe. She never stopped doing it since. Connecting with the crowd and meeting other artists is just too good and nurtures her a lot. Also another important part of being a DJ is enjoying spending a lot of your time digging and discovering music and Gela - well, she digs it ;)

Gela is putting a lot of effort when it comes to improving equality in the music industry. Inclusion of the underrepresented must be on the agenda for a better and more sustainable future. She is part of Keychange this year. Supported by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, Keychange is a global network and movement working towards a total restructure of the music industry in reaching full gender equality. Keychange consists of partners collaborating from 12 different countries, working proactively to make this change. And she has been granted the opportunity to represent her country this year. The movement has put together a pledge for equality in the music industry. Hailing from London, Sean Johnston is one half of the infamous "A Love From Outer Space" duo alongside Andrew Weatherall and also part of Hardway Bros. Described as an "Acid-House Veteran, Techno Survivor and Alpinist" he has released plenty of records on labels and outfits such as Throne Of Blood, Sabres Of Paradise, Luna Flicks, Astro Lab or IsItBalearic?!

Amidst a time troubled by a crumbling electronic music scene and after releasing their first event in early 2020, Bruto presents ‘Garden Under Debris', a debut release that aims to position them as a label that presents a sound influenced by melting various styles including EBM, Techno, Dark Wave, Post-Punk, Industrial, Electro and BreakBeat.

The concept of this compilation is a sense of adaptability. Debris is a birthplace of possibilities, a place that allows nature to be reborn from among the wreckage, a space where future's sound can be cultivated through sound experimentation.

This first compilation will be released in a digital and tape format. The launch is limited to just 70 copies created by a group of both veteran and emerging artists that develop a sound landscape revolving around broken and heavy rhythms, crunchy snares, punishing noises and dirty sounds. The project is divided into two parts, a first side featuring a range of several styles such as EBM, Industrial or Dark Wave and a second part depicting a style closer to Techno where a darker and more overwhelming atmosphere prevails.
