Paul Anthonee returns on Us & Them Records with his first EP of 2016 titled,  Reverse. Reverse is a deep, cutting-edge piece of techno packed with dubbed out pads and chaotic melodies. The breakdown is full  of energy and builds back up to a full force drop that makes it impossible for anyone to stay still on the dancefloor. 
The EP contains another original track called "Heartfields". Paul Anthonee wanted to give a more deep techy groove on this one so he delivers a track with a booming and powerful grooving bass making this a great track for those late night sessions.

Kurt Baggaley takes the controls with not one but two versions of Heartfields. Fresh from his Winterland excursion with Chapter 24 Records he continues here with his trademark analogue sound with two field trips to take you on an electronic journey and back again.

This is a very solid EP which is sure to offer something for everyone.

The Apollo's Messengers remix is a more evolvive version, with melodic characteristics. It sends the listener into a mystical state of mind.

EN : The supraluminic speed. A miracle generated by a completely unique energy source in the known universe: Nomadic crystals. The total shortage of these resources, generated by the excessive exploitation by mining corporations had ended the interstellar voyages. At least it was what we thought until the existence of CPG04 was revealed.

In fact, this planet conceals under a layer of sand and burning rocks, the highest quantity of Arraki crystals ever enumerated up until now. The enthusiasm brought by the great discovery was however marred by some disquietude. Shall we once again, risk exhausting this big wealth? Shall we consume this resource without thinking of the consequences ? A big decision was made. Rather than blindly exploiting CPG04, we are going to try to understand it.

The discoveries which resulted from that approach were incredible. Those crystals were not simple lifeless monoliths. They have been listening to us, capturing the radio waves propagated in our universe and turning them into energy. This energy, once captured by our devices turned out to be an amazing power. Named Arrakis power by our scientists, it fuels our vessels now and allows us to travel to the limits of our universe. Today, the melody of nomadic crystals thus conducts us in all our voyages.

FR : La vitesse supraluminique. Un miracle engendré par une source d’énergie unique en son genre dans l’univers connu: les cristaux nomades. La pénurie totale engendrée par l’exploitation à outrance de ces ressources par les compagnies minières avait cependant mis définitivement fin aux grands voyages stellaires.

C’était du moins ce dont nous étions convaincus jusqu’à ce que l’existence de CPG04 ne soit révélée. Cette planète recèle en effet, sous une épaisse couche de sable et de roche brûlante la plus grande quantité de cristaux d’arrakis recensée à ce jour. L’engouement provoqué par la formidable découverte fut cependant assombri par une inquiétude. Prendrions-nous le risque d’épuiser cette grande richesse? Allions-nous encore une fois consommer cette ressource sans réfléchir aux conséquences? 

Une grande décision fut alors prise. Plutôt que d’exploiter aveuglément cpg04, nous allions chercher à la comprendre. Les découvertes qui en résultèrent furent incroyables. Ces cristaux ne constituent pas de simples monolithes inertes. Ils nous écoutent, ils captent les ondes radios qui se propagent dans notre univers et les changent en énergie. Celle-ci, une fois captée par nos dispositifs s’est révélée être d’une puissance incroyable. Baptisée énergie Arrakis par nos scientifiques, elle alimente désormais nos vaisseaux et nous permet à nouveau de voyager aux confins de l’univers. 
Ainsi, la mélodie des cristaux nomades nous accompagne aujourd’hui encore dans tous nos voyages.

Behind Mononoid are Igor and Andy from Groningen, the Netherlands. They took the word ‘Mono’ (as in solo) and the word ‘nooit’ (Dutch for never), which basically can be translated into "never alone".

Right at the beginning of ‘Flying On A Pink Flamingo’ a minor arpeggio with emotional strings leads you into the musical world of this release. Later hi-hats are coming in which add more veloci-ty. During the break a synth melody is joined by a second arpeggio, giving it even more depth.
‘Hornet’ starts with dreamy pads and hypnotic arp sounds. As the track continues harmonic chords, rides and a spacy percussion are pushing the track ahead.
