Subtrail is proud to present their 5th EP by https://soundcloud.com/arctyxmusic, a techno project by Alex Tyler from Oakland, United States. Creating soundscapes as dark and psychedelic as the moonless desert renegades that inspired them. His explorative sound design can be found thundering across the deep underground California music scene creating monstrous yet hypnotic experiences. He recently played at Burning Man festival. We featured his track ‘Hypno' in our VA - Sonic Secrets Vol 3 which did really well. 

This time around we present two originals with remixes by crew member ‘Basslinengineer' and Goa based DJ & Producer ‘Leonoel'. EP kicks off with ‘Neutral Net', a slow grungy psy-tech track that revolves around a mean arp hook. https://soundcloud.com/user-677057110 has crafted a heavy remix keeping the original vibe but adding his own touch. The second original is ‘Escape Velocity', which is a peak time psy-tech groover. We love the sound design here. For the remix, https://soundcloud.com/shravanjkumar has stripped down the track to create a darker minimal rolling bass version. All four tracks bring the best of psy-tech sounds to your playlist. fka boursin is a DJ and producer out of Bristol, UK. 
Previously known as DJ Boursin, he is recognized for his deep, ambient-infused house music that explores political dimensions of clubs and identity politics.

Welcomed into the Scissor & Thread fold, fka boursin shares two cuts of deep and introspective electronic music. 

The original Listless Intertext is a hazy trip through ambient soundscapes, shuffling rhythms and half-caught conversations, drifting across a 12 minute run time that slowly evolves and shifts with time.  

"Listless Intertext is a track centred around the "failed" employment of cheap vocoder software that attempted to process explicit words and phrases across 11 minutes." says fka boursin. "Instead, the vocoder output made any words indecipherable and I was left with thematic vagueness. The final text of the track is simply a submission to its own limitations with some french thrown in."

When label bosses Frank & Tony step up for their Housebeat Dub, they keep the essential mood but introduce a thick, fat groove that works just as well in conveying the mood. 

"Our remix is a strictly dancefloor approach," says Frank, "an extended psychedelic beat rework perfect for late night, early morning vibes".

For our next release we are treated with a diverse 4-track EP by Ghettofaust. After his first appearance on the label last month we are excited to announce his 'End Of The Earth' EP. A diverse yet synth-driven EP showcasing the diversity Ghettofaust is capable of. Starting off we have 'Zugzwang', a mellow dub-infused groovy house track. Following is the title track 'End Of The Earth'. Spooky pads, classic house stabs & a solid warm bassline, the perfect recipe for a proper house record. Diving deeper into the EP we are greeted by the synth-infused techno track 'Mea Culpa'. A bit reminiscent of older Vince Watson productions, the tune layers a lot of different elements together creating an atmospheric & melodic rhythmic record, the true definer of Ghettofaust's style & abilities. Rounding off the EP we stay in the techno area with 'Feierabend'. Proper grooves, dubby stabs and a latin guitar to give the track an unusual twist. 'End Of The Earth' is out on all major platforms on the 29th of August.
