Stockholm duo “Avancera”, consisting of Dorisburg and Kalawila, explores the void with their debut EP. Over five releases, Stockholm label Mountain Explosion Device had made its intentions clear—to release the absolute best in subtly morphing, psychedelic techno. Its sixth release is no different. The A-side displays rogue frequencies seeping through an ominous office building, as fully automated cleaning bots pass each other through revolving doors. “Skogenräna” adds an addictive percussion-based venture into the feral forests of their native Sweden. The remix comes courtesy of Berlin based
wonderchild Mor Elian. A mind bending desert trip from one of the most exciting producers out there.

Dark Science Electro presents: Richard Easel guest mix

Less than one year after his 2019 release entitled ‘Trans Asia Express’, DVS NME returns with a collection of original tracks that were produced between 2018-2020. This 30-track album is a not-so-subtle nod to the Electro inspirations that have helped to influence the DVS NME sound that has developed over the course of the last 20 years. The most obvious influence is that of Detroit pioneers Drexciya and subsequent projects by Gerald Donald. The album pays homage to Dopplereffekt’s 1999 album ‘Gesamtkunstwerk’ in both its title and cover art. The release ranges from brooding, downtempo machine funk all the way to dancefloor-oriented melodic Electro. The album relies heavily on the sounds of classic Electro machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, and TR-909. DVS NME is the man behind the weekly radio show/daily blog called 'Dark Science Electro' and has been a dedicated contributor for the Electro community for the last 10 years. He shares his love of Electro music by posting Electro-affiliated news, art, mixes, albums, memes, concerts, tracks, gear and more. Barcelona based Carlos Sicrock, known to some simply as "Pasta" or "Carlitos", is a perfect example of how the Spanish and Catalonian cultures seem to produce such passionate Electro producers. Perhaps you could say it's a bit of a balance between having been right in the middle of the expansion of the sound through the 80's and 90's as many of the old school and new school artists of international fame have visited the region, not to mention the sound has always had its share of popularity with its people. But also that in some ways they have also been "cut off" from the true epicenters of this music, making them perfect spectators of the sound and culture.

With New York, Los Angeles, Miami and London being hotbeds for this sound and where the majority of the pioneers originated from, to some degree it could be said that aspiring artists and lovers of the sound in Spain and Catalonia couldn't help but observe in amazement as Electro grew to become such a global phenomenon, going on to influence music in general in so many ways, and giving them in particular a sense of curiosity and appreciation for the music that is evident in the productions to come from the region year after year.

Carlos remembers growing up in a large family that was very musically diverse, offering a broad enough palette of listening that everything from the sounds of James Brown to Pink Floyd, passing through Supertramp and Heavy Metal bands like Judas Priest would give him a very open mind to many styles of music. But none would impact him as much as the emerging sounds of Electro. He recalls, saying that: "I started listening to Electro, and from the first moment I was totally hooked. I remember the first time I heard Cybotron, specifically the "Clear" theme, [also] Hashim, Warp 9, Man Parrish, The Jonzun Crew, and Afrika Bambaataa".

He goes on to explain of a time when Afrika Bambaataa came to play at the Amnesia club in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Catalonia, and getting a chance to breakdance for him. "When they closed the album, you could break dance for them while they collected the synths and other stuff, they freaked out but I did much more. To think of all the times I had danced to the theme Looking For The Perfect Beat, Planet rock, etc., and now they were the ones congratulating me. It was something of an eternal emotion".

Since then, Carlos Sicrock continues to gain momentum as a devoted Electro artist with a keen sense of how deep this sound can go, and why it's worth every bit of blood, sweat and tears to keep digging.

Biography

DJ Pure (Peter Entjes) is the one resident of Planet Rose; the international renowned club in city of
techno Nijmegen (Netherlands). From 1986 on DJ Pure played througout the club- and festival scene in
the Netherlands and worldwide in Prague, Paris, Nimes, Poznan, Berlin, Rostock, Birmingham, Barcelona, Brussels, Bucharest, Denver, Colorado Springs, Leipzig, Moscow, Geneva and Egypt.

History :
From 1987 onwards DJ Pure developed into an outstanding DJ who works the crowd with suprising
ease through the spectrum of electronic dance music. DJ Pure has developed into the epitome of
Dutch electronic dance music and has become a respected pioneer of the Dutch DJ and dance scene.
Pure is also one of the initiators of Planet Rose; the international renowned club night in Doornroosje Nijmegen (Netherlands) since 1994. During his ongoing residency he has performed alongside some of the world’s best known techno artists including; Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Kenny Larkin, Mike Dunn, Todd Terry, Dave Clarke, Claude Young, Neil Landstrumm, Steve Bicknell, Surgeon, Ben Simms, Blake Baxter, DJ Bone, Steve Rachmad, James Ruskin, Mathew Johnson, Minilogue, James Holden, DVS1, Tama Sumo, Ben Sims, Ame etc.and developed into an outstanding DJ who works the crowd with suprising ease through the spectrum of electronic dance music. In 1995 he became member of the ..true spirit .. berlin family and played at and for Tresor Berlin on a regular basis till 2010.

Music industry :
from 2002 till 2006 he’s ran the A&R division for Fingers Ltd records. The clubrelated label of Doornroosje.This Waaghals powered label supports local and regional artst in collaboration with respected friends and producers from all over the world. He is one of the initiators of Nijmeeghs Electronische Waar ( N.E.W.) An internet musicplatform for local artists. Peter Entjes was involved as a supervising production manager of the Musik and machine International Fair and Congress in 2001 @ HKW in Berlin. In 2008 Peter started as head of booking department and promotion and artist handeling for Tresor club Berlin and International bookings for Tresor Artists till fall 2010.
