Every mark and every splinter

Said it's wood it don't feel pain 
Bleeding sap for 40 days
Herd your voice in freezing rain
My stump sings when the wind gets cold
A hollow hymn that i never told
Guess i grew what you left behind
Bent and broken in the lines
Swing again, if you must
