The original version was created by Nick & myself, Autumn 2017, using various Roland, Dave Smith, Doepfer hardware, plus additional live percussion.

Side B: Forgotten Corner - Prosthetic Limbo (Cassini Division remix)
Cassini Division is Kyle Martin’s solo project. His previous remix on forg002 still sounds timeless, so we asked him to remix forg004. Kyle agreed and delivered a monster of a spacious hypnotic slow techno re-imagination!.

Kyle took all of the different elements & put each of them through his modular system & homemade modular fx, he then merged them with some other tones and percussive sounds that he created on his Macbeth synth, re-pitching the sounds to lower the frequencies & then adding various spring reverb
fx to create the spacious immersive atmosphere. The end result is a total trip... turn up loud, close your eyes....repeat!.

Forgotten Corner - Prosthetic Limbo (Cassini Division remix)

As excitement builds for this year's Convenanza Festival, the event curated by Bernie Fabre and Andrew Weatherall, Höga Nord get set to release a compilation celebrating the artists performing at this years . Among the performers are Komodo Kolektif.  Having been featured on Weatherall's NTS show Music's not for Everyone the Glasgow collective are heading out to Carcasonne to woo the crowds with their unique brand of Cosmic live instrumentation and no doubt the centrepiece will be Daratan Ceremony, a track which straddles the line between Etnofunk and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.
Tabla sounding drums underpin distorted wind chimes, growling thick bass in a track which in another dimension would be the theme for a warped wildlife documentary series about humans, no doubt being watched by ants or some other dominant technologically advanced species.  Members of the band have released solo on Optimo and Invisible, Inc. and along with several other sometime members have melded live instrumentation with machinery musically in the same way that body horror director David Kronenburg has on film.
Höga Nord's association with Andrew Weatherall continues to be fruitful with this fantastic sampler heading into the weirder and slightly more Cosmic edges of electronic music.

DIRK DESAEVER - COLLECTED 1984 - 1989 (LONG PLAY)

Musique Pour La Danse is thrilled to present its latest “Collected” anthology, the label’s most ambitious release since it released an extensive anthology of music produced by New Beat pioneer Ro Maron back in 2015.

This time label managers Olivier Ducret (Muriaux, CH) and Ed Isar (Paris, FR) have focused on another essential Belgian producer: Dirk Desaever, the man behind White House White, A Thunder Orchestra and Danton’s Voice. Rare and sought after, his records fetch high prices among collectors. Some of his productions under these aliases have appeared in crucial compilations such The Sound of Belgium series as well as Walhalla’s Underground Wave, along with edits by Mick Wills for Biorythm and Marcel Dettman for Dekmantel.

What was initially supposed to be a simple reissue affair soon turned into a much wider project, as Desaever shared heaps of amazing unreleased material with the label. It seemed much more interesting to shed light on the dark side of this producer’s body of work, rather than to focus on content already reissued elsewhere.

After listening to noisy tape rips over and over, Ducret & Isar opted to break this release down in three formats (EP, LP distributed via NEWS and a cassette sold by the label direct), each one with different content. They entrusted sound engineer Lorenzo Targhetta with remastering the music and it’s impressive how much he managed to polish the sound without altering the unmistakable grain of music committed to cassette tape.

The pièce de résistance of Collected 1984 - 1989, all the music on this LP has never been heard before, except for a single tune released on a rare 7” in 1988. The track selection and sequence is the result of Ducret & Isar closely listening to the many hours of unreleased material Desaever shared with them.

The record can be approached as an imaginary album or even the soundtrack of a lost film or TV show. The idea was to tell a story about Desaever’s music by highlighting its themes and variations. While some tunes can be imagined within a New Beat context, it’s clear they were not created with clubs in mind. In fact, most of the material here is actually closer to minimal wave, synth wave and dark wave. With a certain gothic melancholia as the common thread running through the record, some tracks can only be described as lofi library music with a strong medieval reminiscence, others are closer to the wave aesthetic, and finally a few could even be considered ambient.

Desaever’s house holds many rooms, each one different from the other. After completing a grand tour of the mansion and seeing the bigger picture, it will become clear for listeners how truly unique this producer sounds, even compared with other Belgians from the 80s. Saved from oblivion and irremediable decay, the music on this LP is now just waiting to be played and listened as well as to inspire.

Hailing from different places in western Europe, Luc Bersier, Low Bat, Leonard Prochazka and Ariel Garcia created this vibrant EP. Their synergy tells a story of creativity, freedom in sound and, above all, playfulness. Serious music while similarly not being to earnest. 
Their venture evolved into a very original blend of cosmic music, utilizing instruments that fit into the neofolk Krautrock domain, vocal experiments into French chanson territory, infused in Berlinian cosmopolitanism. Expect an exciting minimal wave synth punk orgy, punk definitely being the defining trait underneath these layers of sound. 
This is boundless music with attitude, capable of making us drift off and disrupt us in equal measure.

The bar was crowded and noisy, a constant thrashing of sound that made it hard to hear your own thoughts. The men of the town came to drink here every night; they would tell tales of the days events and brag to one another about their various accolades. As the night went on, the men's arrogance grew, fuelled by multiple scotches and tankards of bitter. When the clock struck 12, the door swung open and a woman clad in black confidently made her way to the bar. All eyes were on her as she moved through the room. She cast a glare to either side and the men sheepishly looked away. She was fierce, nobody here would dare to challenge her. Everybody was afraid of her and that's exactly the way she liked it...

For the second release on her and friend Umut's label Müstesna, Ece Özel has rounded up both local Turkish producers and overseas friends to feature on their forthcoming compilation sheLter. Over 25 artists have contributed to the VA release, including international friends like Beesmunt Soundsystem, Alessandro Adriani, Mr TC and Tolouse Low Trax, as well as native artists like Mehmet Aslan, Emre Can Swim and Erdnik Ol. The impetus behind this compilation is to provide financial support and create national and international awareness of trans murders and trans suicides in Turkey, where the murder rate is the highest in Europe. All proceeds will be given to “Eylül Cansın Trans Guest House" - a place founded by the Istanbul LGBTI Solidarity Association - and will help provide support and generate income for the guest home to find a new home and keep the establishment going.
