Kalumet's first Chill-out show is starting this week, Monday evening 8pm CET on the Chill channel. The two hours long ambient podcast inherited its name from the regular Sunday club night Kalumet hosted a few years ago in Budapest and aims to follow the footsteps.
The Kalumet project started out as progressive psy-trance back around the Millenium but have slowly evolved into something more complex, nowadays even bordering with the so called forest trance or darkpsy, while Kalumet is constantly making downtempo music under the same name as well. It's safe to say that Zoltan Vajda is the man of many alter-egos, as he's not only making chill-out and psy-trance but - among others - he sometimes calls himself Trevor McGregor as well, releasing psychedelic, minimalistic techno tracks at Horns&Hoofs Records. His latest chill-out EP "Dimensional Music Technology" came out on Visionary Mind Records and is a fusion of experimental electronica spiced up with live instruments, such as the guitar sounds Kalumet played and recorded himself. The music guides you deep into the abstract and trippy world of Kalumet: it's weird but very meditative. As the artist himself likes to call it, this is hardcore lounge.
The first edition of CHILLUM NIGHTS features Kalumet's own favorite psychedelic chill-out tunes with lots of familiar names from the last Ozora Festival such as Gayan Uttejak Orchestra or Beats Antique who both gave unforgettable concerts on the Dragon Nest stage in Magic Garden this year. Master Margherita, Suns of Arqa and Capsula also involved: this incense scented two hours mix will teleport you back to Ozora for a little while.
Chillum Nights will be a regular show here on radiOzora in the future with the intent to showcase the work of Kalumet's downtempo project as well as present you the finest selection of psychedelic ambient, dub, trip-hop and fusion downbeat electronica from time to time. Tune in!

Chillum Nights is a regular show on radiOzora with the intent to showcase the work of Kalumet's downtempo project as well as present you the finest selection of psychedelic ambient, dub, trip-hop and fusion downbeat electronica from time to time. In the vast expanse of the universe, beyond the reaches of our known reality, lies a realm of infinite layers, each harbouring its secrets and mysteries. The rhythmic pulse of Dub Techno finds its resonance within this intricate web of cosmic dimensions.
At the heart of this sub-universe is a clandestine gathering known as the Assembly of Frequencies. The Assembly comprises beings from diverse corners of the cosmos, united by their shared affinity for the ethereal realm of sound. They convene within an interdimensional chamber, concealed within the fabric of space-time, to explore the harmonic tapestry that connects the layers of existence.
Each layer of the sub-universe is a universe in itself, woven together by celestial threads of energy and vibration. The Assembly of Frequencies seeks to decipher this interplay, unlocking the underlying harmony reverberating through the cosmic corridors. As Synchrona's understanding deepens, they realize that Dub Techno mirrors the intricate architecture of the sub-universe. Its pulsating beats mimic the vibrations of celestial bodies, while the ethereal echoes and reverberations embody the intangible connections that bind the layers together. Through this sonic exploration, Synchrona uncovers the cosmic essence that underlies the genre, revealing its close link to the sub-universe.
As the Assembly of Frequencies continues to unravel the mysteries of the sub-universe, their insights reshape the understanding of Dub Techno, infusing it with a newfound spiritual depth. DJs and producers across the galaxy embrace this revelation, blending the celestial harmonies with earthly rhythms, creating transcendent soundscapes that echo through the multiverse.
In the end, the Assembly's journey transcends mere exploration. It becomes a voyage of unity, where the layers of the sub-universe converge in a symphony of boundless vibrations. Dub Techno becomes the cosmic conduit through which the interconnectedness of all things is revealed—a sonic manifestation of the sub-universe's grand design.

Originally from Bielefeld, Northern Germany, Shelley started her music journey back in 2019. Driven by hypnotic and impulsive rhythms, combined with dark and dissociative atmospheres she developed through the years her own style. This project has developed different facets, including a career as an interpreter and audio producer when experimenting with a wide variety of musical sequences. It seeks the integration of oscillating interpersonal ideas among the variety of solid conceptions.
This project also defines the transformation of the artist that has developed under different aliases for several years.

Medha is a Leipzig based Dj and promoter as a member of the PVC collective. Since the end of 2021 she is the co-host of the well-known event series aequalis at Ifz. Her passion for technoid music is shaped by her constant search for inspiration and new tracks, which she brings together in her mixes with a mixture of intuition and thought. Influenced by the Berlin and Leipzig culture and club scene, she has developed her own way of expressing her passion. Her sound is characterised by concise basslines and rougher elements on the one hand, but also by deep and driving rhythms and repetitive sounds. Recently, she has played in clubs such as Tresor Berlin, Ifz Leipzig or Sirococlub Madrid.

After releasing a first glimpse in the form of the ‘Atomos VII’ EP earlier this year, A Winged Victory For The Sullen finally reveal their second full-length album entitled ‘Atomos’, which besides familiar piano, string and drone sounds also sees the duo introduce flurries of electronics, harp and modular synthesisers.  

Wayne McGregor, founder of Random Dance Company and resident choreographer at the Royal Ballet, chose to play the album repeatedly during practices with his core group of dancers. After noticing the group's reaction with the music, he contacted Adam and Dustin to see if they could write the score for his new oeuvre. The duo were given complete artistic freedom and they treated the score with the same care and attention as their debut album. They recorded more than sixty minutes of music over a four-month period during the summer of 2013 across studios in Brussels, Berlin and Reykjavik, with the help of their long time collaborative sound engineer Francesco Donadello. During the recording process they realised, that this would become their official second studio album. McGregor provided them with the inspiration to expand their sound palette into more electronic territory, whilst keeping their signature chamber sound, resulting in a very unique record.

This beautiful twelfth episode of our Herbarium series was recorded by the gifted @janloup. We are particularly impressed by this one as it underlines our love for brave sound experiments combined intriguing grooves. This journey goes into so many different directions while it never loses it's thrilling and powerful attitude.
Jan Loup chose the Helichrysum as the topic for this mix. This plant never let's its leaves fall, it keeps them all year. Its name comes from the sun “Helios” ( greek) and “Chrysos”, gold. It likes to install itself in the cracks between rocks, in an environnement close to the sea. It is known to have great power of healing wounds and burns. In Homer's Odyssee myth, Princess Nausicaa rubs the injured body of Ulysse with Helichrysum and saves him from death. The secret of her beauty resided in the daily usage of this plant as a youth elixir.
Despite this story, the plant is called immortal because even when cut, it keeps its shape, blossom and color. All the myths and the recent observation of her incredible properties make the Helichrysum mysterious and powerful. Resistant, resilient, curing.

James Clements, otherwise known as ASC is the man behind On the 5th Day podcast #51 and this, 5th Day friends, is something really really special!

If you’re familiar with ASC then simply seeing the name will most likely get your heart racing, as you’ll have a fairly good idea of what’s in store. Here is a madly talented artist who perfectly personifies On the 5th Day – with an undeniable talent for capturing and communicating feeling through his music, injecting a multitude of heart and soul into an everlasting stream of consistently beautiful tracks across ambient, techno and beyond for near on 20 years. Yeh, that pretty much does it for us!

Producing since 1997, with his earlier musical undertakings focused on drum’n’bass (for which he was a prolific producer for over a decade), ASC’s sound took a more ambient and experimental direction in the late 2000s, at which point he took a strong following of dedicated, open-minded admirers of the Clements originality with him, all hungry to see what would follow. What was to follow was some of the most original and impactful music to circulate the electronic world, melding together ASC’s earlier cross-genre musical influences as well as his ongoing inspirations, the sci-fi world included.

The launch of ASC’s Auxiliary label in 2010, intended as a blue print for quality deep electronic music (soon after growing a few sub-labels) went onto become a pioneering platform for his sound, with Sam KDC bought on board to help bring the boundary pushing vision of the label to life. Today, the imprint does everything it says on the tin - providing an abundance of quality deep vibes to lock you in, with its latest release being a collection of sequences programmed, performed and recorded live by the man himself.

If ambient is your thing, then ASC is 100% your man! Naturally drawn towards emotional, atmospheric sounds, ASC’s outputs in this field – including 7 stunning releases on the renowned Silent Season label – are scintillating and alluring, so much so that some of this music led him to work on both film and video game scores.

The musical journey ASC has crafted for us here, largely formed of brand new, unheard material, is the perfect trip showcasing the heavier side of his sound, whilst still encompassing the more emotional, atmospheric techno he's known for. This is another super special addition to the stream and one we’ll wholeheartedly treasure for a long time to come. Thank you ASC!
