Restricted Affect

Dikarya is the project of Micah Carlson, a musician who spent their twenties and thirties performing and touring, building a foundation in both live music and the studio. Now working out of their own studio, the focus is on recording, production, and sound design—collaborating with other musicians and exploring immersive textures.

Influences draw from classic rock, punk, and ’90s alternative, while also reaching into post-rock, electronic, and experimental sounds. Current inspiration comes from artists like Warpaint, M83, Bruit, IDLES, Slift, and Mannequin Pussy, alongside producers Trent Reznor, Alessandro Cortini, and Atticus Ross. The goal is simple: to create music that balances raw energy, atmosphere, and emotion
