Ismcast Presents: Blasha & Allatt (Meat Free/Blue Hour)

We are kicking of the year with a podcast by the Manchester based duo Blasha & Allatt. They are co-founders and residents at Manchester’s infamous Meat Free, one of Manchester’s leading techno nights. During 2019 they powered through the club and festival circuit with notable appearances at London’s Printworks, Dimensions Festival, and of course their spiritual home The White Hotel. Their latest release is a remix of Blue Hour’s track ‘Mirimar’ which came out as part of a remix package alongside fellow heavy hitters Hector Oaks, D.Dan & Vladimir Dubyshkin. Their vinyl sets bring together a mixture of current beats and old school rhythms that provide plenty of energy for the dancefloor!

We are proud to present to you a relentless mix from none other than Mekanikal Bloodshed's co-founder, Ma Čka. Since the Parisian made her Ismus debut back in summer 2019, for our event with the infamous London crew Jaded, we have wondered when we will see her again and the time is now. 

She has delivered just under an hour of full power techno with heavy industrial themes running throughout. If you haven't had a chance to check her or Mekanikal Bloodshed then we highly recommend that you do so, expect a much tougher sound.

On the last episode of the MindTrip podcast for 2020 Pfirter invited one of Portugal’s leading artists of the current techno scene, João Rodrigues aka Temudo. He lives & breathes music since he was a kid when he started his education in sound. Having initially dived into the Drum ’n’ Bass fields as Medio, he continued being eager to learn and experiment, and that was when he began exploring the sound of Techno. Up to date he has released on labels like Soma, Modularz, Clergy, Mord, Synewave, Planet Rhythm and also Hayes, a collaborative platform run by himself together with Nørbak, VIL, -2 and Osse focused on showcasing the distinct output of its artists through vinyl and digital releases. Temudo created an exceptional 60 min mix including music from Vince Watson, Diego Amura, Divide, Troy, Kwartz and much more, as well as upcoming unreleased tracks by himself.

The unsettling terrain of Evigt Mörker's world can be broken up into a few frenetic parts that give the overall impression of a serene habitat. There's the otherworldly foreground of his techno works that are blissfully psychedelic as well as carefully structured for the most subtly disorientating shifts, and hovering amongst this is his wholesome grasp on the purpose and consequence of melody. Together, this is Evigt Mörker's deadly and addictive mix.

Hailing from Sweden, some initial forays into bands in his youth went hand-in-hand with an early exposure to techno. Yet it was the illegal rave scene in Stockholm that would prove to be most formative. The circuit of DJing and parties soon fed into the need to create a platform from which to work, and so the identity and label Evigt Mörker came into being in 2013. The first three releases cemented Evigt Mörker's ability to rouse melodic dynamics out of an ambient setting. Whether settling and fixating on a rhythmic pattern, or shuffling through different emotions, often these tracks would career into rapturous dancefloor pieces. It didn't take long until the formidable Semantica Records tapped him for a release, which produced the stunning EP, 'Helmet of Bones.' From this point, Evigt Mörker would come under the austere wing of Northern Electronics. Two terse yet incandescent EPs, along with a fourth release on his own label, have charged the air for his debut album, 'Krona'. Appearing on Northern Electronics, a brooding intensity defines the album, as well as a technical dexterity for carving dissonance into lush techno tools.

For those that have witnessed Evigt Mörker live or as DJ, a different side to his recorded output comes into play. Often far more forceful than his releases, there's an energetic and rhythmic power reserved for these moments. It's perhaps this versatility that's kept him in such high demand as a remixer. Taken to the other end of the spectrum, Evigt Mörker's live shows are capable of elegant ambient pieces, if holding a dancefloor down isn't the modus operandi.

Dilemma Podcast #037 Benales from Paris (France) Benales has been honing his craft since the end of the 90s. 
As an avid record collector, vinyl only DJ and enthusiast of Techno and House – his DJ sets and tracks combine the raw, dark and deep elements of these musical forms with a firm nod in the direction of Detroit. 
His talent allows him to put himself in many clubs in Europe like Tresor, Rex Club, Le sucre, The Gate (Georgia) but also as a regular guest of Concrete when it’s not rare to find Benales surrounded by guest of solid reputation like DVS1, Zadig, Surgeon, Steve Bicknell, Dj Pete, James Ruskin. 
Fascinated by Techno and coldness of electronic music, he released some EP’s and remixes on Sino (Technasia Label), and notably “Elements part 1 & part 2” have marked his spot in the international scene. 
Over the years, he had several releases on outstanding labels like Suburban Avenue, Analog Solutions, Knotweed, Diffuse Reality, Key Vinyl, and many more to follow.

His music based on sound and spatial explorations makes him feel in
his deejay sets of Techno Landscape or Ambient style.
He’s also inspired by astronomy, exploring the sky equipped with a
telescope, which allows him to find ideas during these studio nights
sessions.
His appearances on stage are rare and his productions are secret.
But he did few Vinyls and some Digital EPs on his own imprint and also on another’s Labels.
And of course he’s always looking for experimentation and sounds
research with some old school analog machines, modular synths,
vintage drum machines and Efxs, on in his lab somewhere in the
galaxy (but in south of France).

Not only industrial, but techno as well. She has not long after came to a conclusion that dancing is not enough anymore, and would like to play as well.
