@lukid is about as low key as they come. Somehow, he's managed to remain in the shadows despite making music - either solo or as half of Rezzett - for cult labels like Actress' Werkdiscs and The Trilogy Tapes, as well as his own Glum. His style is hard to define and can take in anything from caustic sonic collages to experimental and abstract sound design via lo-fi house and blistering beats. Since 2018 he has also made old school jungle as Refreshers, but whatever he does, it always explores the outermost fringes. The same is always true of his never less than adventurous transmissions on NTS each month.

In just 55 minutes for us this week, he serves up a breathless trip through hugely kinetic sounds that could be 30 years old or not out till next month. Amongst the colliding energies of hardcore, jungle and rave he will often drop a pitched up vocal so soulful and emotive it hurts, before racing onto the next flurry of drums. Frankly, it's a high speed mix of hyper real sounds that acts like a double shot of adrenaline straight into your bloodstream. You have been warned.

Mensik

Matej Mensik is a Mexican sound maker born in 1999. Since early age he has embarked in multiple divergent paths that span music for film, multiple improvisational projects and audiovisual projects. Co-owner of his own label DUAT (including music by Vlvcrvn, Lx Noche, NRMN.MX, and others). Currently, Mensik is working on his first EP called ""El Verdadero Caos No Hace Ruido"", exploring more with experimental techniques of synthesis and recording, also he's scoring one song for a Mexican film called ""Pictures Of You"" that will be screened in 2020 at Mexican Theaters. Currently he hosts a Radio Show called Radio Encontrado broadcasting once every month at Radio Alhara, Palestinian Radio Station.

Mumdance embraces a much wider world of sound than many. The UK producer is an experienced collaborator who grounds his sounds in anything from grime to breaks, techno to hardcore, experimental to world and afro. Making textured noise with a module set up, playing sets that run a dizzying gamut of genres and performing live with the likes of Novelist, he is a restless creative who works with labels like Tectonic, Keysound Recordings and XL Recordings. On top of all this, he runs his own Different Circles label, heads up one of Rinse FM’s most popular radio shows and designed sound presents for the relaunched 303 and 909 machines by Roland.

His mix for us is a beguiling, hard to categorise blend of all of this, forthcoming stuff and more: from brain frying frequencies and skeletal grooves from somewhere on the hardcore continuum to sci-fi ambiance, deep techno rhythms and immersive passages of raved-up sound design, it is a singular proposition from someone who embodies many different aspects of UK electronic music past, present and future, often all at once.
