We have curated a blend of two truly unique styles entailing electronic sounds piloted by off-center basslines and various percussions as well unconventional rhythmic patterns. Born and raised in Abu Dhabi, MAMBOLO built his reputation on self-expression and connection, bringing people together through his striking beats and unique mixes. He focuses on house music, producing tracks that call to mind a wide variety of musical influences.

He has always been wild about music. He first got into electronic music and music production when he was only 11 because of MTV Music Generator on Playstation 1. Those were important days for him, and he looks back on them fondly. He then dove headfirst into 90s electronic music. Some of his favorites were Enigma, ATB, and Darude. Whatever music will pick people up and spin them around though, that is what he's after. He just wants to see people having an incredible time.

Some of his biggest influences BlackCoffee, Da Capo, and Themba. He mixes sounds that are somewhere between Afro/tribal, progressive house, Downtempo and he adds a little Middle Eastern flavor to his music, harking to his Arabic background. Telling stories and entertaining people, he is on a mission to spread happiness, love and peace through beautiful tunes, one track and one show at a time.

SACRED TANGO

This mix is a recording of a set I played live at Indigenous Frequency, a outdoor festival put together by Gasmic Audio and Naarbeats Productions, at a beautiful setting near a dam on a farm just outside my hometown of Pietermaritzburg. 

It had been almost a year since any of us had flicked some proper hoof on the dancefloor. The sun was setting, the full moon was rising and everyones bottled up energy from being locked down was bouncing off eachother on the dance floor.

Fire extinguishers didn't quite cut it, we had get the fire department on standby for this one.

Berlin-based Kotelett & Zadak are up first on remix duties, tackling ‘Vedanta’. The duo are regulars at Katerblau and have previously released on key labels like Poker Flat and Exploited Ghetto. They give the original a stripped-down sound that is spooky & mysterious, trapping you in their alluring late night house atmosphere.

The team of Felix and Yannek Maunz give their debut on the infamous label Katermukke.  After a few collaborations of the two producers and live acts from Berlin, they gave rise to their track 'Choices'. A melancholic symphony which carries Felix voice and delivers a chiming groove of a deep and dancy dream. The warm and blistering „Synth Sequence“ on the drop definitely gives the track its characteristic sound and touch.

„Choices“ is Part of the EP „Shining One“ which also includes two tracks of Daniel Jaeger and Cook Strummer.
