The singular brand of house music that Taylor Freels produces as Liquid Earth is uniquely transatlantic, infusing the rhythmic sensibilities of London and Berlin with the sun-soaked serenity of his native California. Part '80s sleaze, part '90s deepness, part '00s wiggle, Freels makes dance music cocktails that pop like a twist of lime hitting seltzer. Melodic, crisp, and always refreshing, each track by the California-native is singularly recognisable as he refashions vintage sounds for the clubs of tomorrow.

Under his most recent alias, Liquid Earth, Freels has been pushing, as Resident Advisor put it, "tech house with a twist." His state-of-the-art analog grooves emerged from the ether fully formed in 2019 with some of the deepest basslines and crunchiest melodies out there. Freels' squigly take on contemporary house and techno always comes primed with a dose of California sunshine. 

Carrying on the legacy of storied California predecessors like Halo and Hipp-E, he's been swivelling heads and moving bodies with releases on labels at the vanguard of the underground, like Kalahari Oyster Cult and Is/Was sub label TerraFirm, collaborations with Tornado Wallace as Dinnervisions, and a remix of his starry-eyed, "Scope Zone" by Youandewan landed him notoriety among the scenesters alike. 

More than just a producer, Freels knows how to pack a punch behind the decks, moving from classic West Coast Breaks to UK tech house with aplomb and mastery. His bookings and podcasts have been piling up like hot cakes with best-in-class mixes for the likes of Honey Soundsystem, Butter Side Up and Faciendo and DJ appearances from Dimensions Festival to Panorama Bar.

A celebrated producer and DJ hailing from Naarm/Melbourne and now based in London, he’s fast becoming a household name, propelled by a versatile range of productions on the likes of Limousine Dream, Kalahari Oyster Cult and Slapfunk Records.

DIM321 finds reflex blue is full swing, stretching his long legs across 140 thoroughly enjoyable minutes. Classy house expertly punctuated either side by downtempo and faster techno / progressive inspired sounds.

Katia Curie delivers the final podcast before this year’s festival. The Ukrainian DJ, now based in Vienna, is rising fast, with an impressive run of recent mixes showcasing a refined ear and a deft touch on the turntables. Her manipulation of sound speaks to her classical music training from childhood.

Clocking in at just under an hour, DIM332 expertly leans into the rolling tech-house sound that Katia has become so formidable wielding.

Next up in the Sounds Nice series we welcome Pistaccio, the Aus-based artist whose music first caught our ear with a lovely release on Magic Carpet not too long ago.
