"Warmest Day", the first single to follow our annual Silk Royal Showcase 03 compilation, is a stunning downtempo composition by breakthrough Finnish act Our Stolen Theory. The Original Mix has now been given several inspired peak-hour interpretations by some of the most exciting talents in modern trance and progressive: Mike Shiver, Johan Vilborg, and Nigel Good. Early radio support for Shiver & Vilborg's collaborative remix has already come from Above & Beyond, on their acclaimed weekly radio show and podcast "Group Therapy".

The single kicks off with an anthemic remix by Mike Shiver & Johan Vilborg, a brilliant partnership between a trance legend and a veritable rising star. More specifically, globetrotting DJ and producer Mike Shiver has contributed to Anjunabeats, Armada, and his own Captured Music imprint for the better part of a decade, and his recent single "Ohh" on the Anjunabeats Volume 10 compilation was hugely supported by international trance fans and DJ's alike. Meanwhile, Vilborg is still riding the momentum from a massive breakthrough year in 2012, in which he released several acclaimed EP's and remixed Dinka's "Lotus", recipient of "Record of the Week" on Above & Beyond's "Trance Around The World" radio show. In many ways, there was an element of destiny behind this collaboration: not only are they fellow Swedes, but they also share a passion for emotive, uplifting chords and stadium-rocking grooves. As to be expected, their remix kicks off a with a pumping rhythm section, while a layered bass begins to filter into the mix. Meanwhile, in the background, some of the vocal echoes of OST's original vocal are teasingly introduced. At the quarter turn, as we are first met with the "your life" vocal hook, the electro-tinged bassline explodes through the mix. The bass continues to crescendo as the song approaches the midpoint, while several "wobbles" and other dynamic bass effects reinforce the dancefloor euphoria. With great anticipation, the main break drop arrives, revealing a poignant guitar solo from the original mix. This is followed by OST's memorable and truly beathtaking main vocal line: "Guess you noticed, life is here right now". With the completion of the full vocal verse, the rapturous lead chord progression re-appears likes a shot of pure adrenaline, especially when coupled with the gut-busting drop to follow.

The second remix in the package comes courtesy of Silk artist-of-the-moment Nigel Good, who has been on the warpath of late with a flurry of well supported remixes and singles. Specifically, his latest original "The Balance" has been played on radio by Above & Beyond, Max Graham, and tyDi in recent weeks and reached the Top 5 on Beaport's Progressive House Release Chart (as well as the Top 20 in Overall Releases); earlier this year, his standout remix of Aerosoul's "Time Is By Your Side" was featured on radio by Myon & Shane 54, Solarstone, and many more. Although Nigel's remix could accurately be categorized as a peak-hour stormer, the house-y rhythm lends the track a genre-bending versatility. Early on in the track, a signature electro-tinged bassline is introduced, as well as a radiant chord progression. Another Nigel Good trademark is presented soon thereafter: a gorgeous array of futuristically-processed vocal stabs, derived from the original vocal and other samples. Finally, OST's verse arrives in full splendor, with the many other instrumental elements offering great support behind it. Just as the build gains full momentum, it gives way to a poignant main break, in which the main vocal theme is coupled with an emotive piano score. The drop to follow is a pure dancefloor killer, as the layered bassline furiously cuts through the mix. A funky, Daft Punk-inspired synth adds even more flavor to the ebullient soundscape.

Finally, Our Stolen Theory's Original Mix has been featured here as the closing track. Although it is a downtempo cut, it is presented here again (after initially appearing on Silk Sofa) as a much deserved reminder of its blissful and deeply poignant sound. The song centers on chilled, early-morning pads, as well as several beachside guitar riffs. There's also a glitchy, broken breakbeat, which propels the track forward and offers a bit more hop to an otherwise relaxed soundscape. This rhythm slowly picks up energy, leading into the highlight of the track: the stunning break, in which the main vocal theme is introduced. The hopeful lyrics are not only beautifully rendered, but are deeply poetic and "timeless" in their meaning.

Following the launch of Schodt's much anticipated "Darkness | Light" artist album, our latest Silk Royal single showcases two stunning new interpretations of the album's lead single, "April". Johan Vilborg, now one of the most internationally supported talents on our imprint, has been tapped for the first of two new renderings, the second of which is from Schodt himself.

Known for ebullient peak-hour progressive trance, Johan delivers one of his most uplifting cuts to date. The track begins with the most distinctive hook from the original: a hypnotic series of female vocal stabs. Soon thereafter, we are met by an extremely funky, layered bassline progression; the mid-range pad layers are slowly filtered into the mix and then finally hit with full force at the quarter turn. In the mean break, a poignant piano theme is added to the affair, while the gorgeous vocals dance overhead. The drop to follow packs an enormous, stadium-rocking punch.

Schodt offers an exceedingly beautiful rework; veteran fans of his music will not be surprised by the chillout/downtempo direction he has chosen, as he has written numerous tracks in this style in his near decade-long career. A soothing and deeply heartfelt keyboard theme is introduced early, as a variety of early 'morning' nature effects enhance the soundscape. A light rhythm and a "flock" of swirling trance-influenced arp lines slowly begin to crescendo, as sweeping string themes take center stage. The cinematic orchestration, especially in the climactic second half of this one, will leave you breathless.

Mango, whose unique brand of melodic progressive house inspired the creation of our imprint, returns to our parent label with "Pillow Fights", one of the standout tracks from his recent artist album, "Citylanes Airplanes". A collaboration with Richard J Aarden, the Original Mix features all of the distinctive elements of Mango's sound that have inspired us for so many years. More specifically, an uplifting chord progression and light, minimalistic rhythm create a "weightless" and deeply soothing soundscape. Aarden's soulful vocals and thoughtful lyrics are equally cathartic. The uplifting, yet slightly melancholic chords guide the listener into the main break, where a delicate piano and Aarden's pensive vocals reach even greater emotional depths.

Blood Groove & Kikis, who are now regularly supported by the industry elite on major house, trance & progressive radio shows alike, offer the one and only remix in the package. They are an especially suitable choice, given their great talent for both melody and atmosphere. Their interpretation, not surprisingly, offers a bit more of a DJ-centered groove, yet is no less soulful than the original. The main chords have been reworked, while the vocal remains the lead element of the track. In the main break, autumnal synths enhance the poignance of Aarden's gorgeous vocals.

Today - 21st January 2014 - we bestow upon you a gift, a completely new piece of music from the Vaults of the Digitalism Music bunker in Hamburg called ’Fahrenheit 32!’ Available exclusively for you to play, download, share, burn, cut to vinyl, edit, remix, bootleg, mash-up, the options are endless.

‘Fahrenheit 32’ marks a new direction for us both musically and creatively. It’s not just a milestone on a long journey of ours, but also a peace offering for what’s about to come. In 2014 we want to let the music and creative side of our work take the forefront of our image, which unfortunately means that you will be seeing a less personable version of us, especially in light of how much time we will spend in the studio. We chose this route because for the first time, in a long time, we found ourselves in one of the most creative periods of our career. Over the past months we have been writing music for ourselves and also for other artists, we remixed and re-edited our peers and DJ’ed some of the best shows throughout our 10 year career. So it seems fitting to let all of this have a face and image of its own, whilst our own faces are busy programming, sequencing and staring into computer screens. 

‘Fahrenheit 32’ represents the start of this new creative era, so please treasure this music and enjoy it as much as we did making and playing it, as well as hearing it on BBC Radio 1, Triple J and KCRW in the last few days. It’s a moment in time, our time - 2014.

Its why we think her vocals always do so well with dance music. Holding onto Heaven was definitely a fun challenge for us to remix. The original is very far from a dance track and we wanted to think out of the box and do something unusual with the vocal. Additionally there were so many cinematic parts to the song to use particularly the string. In our remix you will here some vocal transposing that we think adds this very strange but unique edge that cuts through. Unreleased Digital reaches it's 200th release. Reason enough to offer a special, nostalgic package representing Unreleased Digital's music from the present, as well as the one from the past.
All HELVETIC NERDS members came together to create the idea of this amazing piece of music. CHRIS REECE & DINKA worked out the final production of both mixes. The first mix convinces with modern progressive house synth lines, catchy melodies and an indie dance like breakdown section with a sort of children choir singing an angelic top melody.
Second mix is drawn to sound more old-school, the way Unreleased Digital sounded in 2007 when the first records hit download charts and got noticed by the EDM scene. Low-pass filtered chords playing an uplifting progression throughout, arpeggio synth lines support the magic of the mix and some epic breakdowns will set your crowd on fire, for sure.
Take a journey through 200 Unreleased Digital releases and enjoy this little helvetic time warp.
