JTL, the next name to know in hip hop, rap and the world of entertainment period. Born and raised on the south side of St. Peters-burg, Florida where talent lives but is not much known. The outside world provided JTL with his musical influences. The artist that played a big part in giving JTL the rap culture lessons, word play and knowledge of self, he needed consist of (to name a few) Krs-One ,Public Enemy and Nas. He also leaned on The Notorious BIG for storytelling skills and Tupac (which is JTL’s biggest musical influence) for passion, poetry and social awareness. Since the late 1980's, JTL was following the hip hop culture and learning that being from the south it was still possible to be a hip hop great with the likes of artist like Outkast and the Ghetto Boyz, emerging from Atlanta and Texas to provide the hope and guidelines to come out of the South.

 

JTL started free styling and writing his own songs at the age of 12 years old. As he grew older he started to pay attention to the rhymes and stories being taught about dealing with the ills of the world and the pain of being a black man in America from his influences such as Tupac, Public Enemy and Krs-One; which in turn helped JTL focus more on rhyming from the heart and speaking on the pain he felt every day. JTL came to realize  while he could not  only focus on negative things all the time , parties and  the club are only on the weekend and real life is every day. Speaking on God and helping the people in his community also had to be incorporated in his music with JTL having pastors and missionaries in his family and surroundings. But do not mistake JTL for only being a socially conscience artist that doesn't speak about enjoying life, getting money and making sure his friends come along for the ride as. JTL pushes to be an all-purpose artist that spits about any and everything that is on his mind and the mind of the listeners.

 

From bad relationships,  being misunderstood as a young man , changing the world, fighting  back against oppression, and just feeling good vibes through beats and rhymes that make you want to dance and celebrate  is what you will get from listening to music from  JTL. There is so much more that can be said about JTL and his style and life but that is what the music is for. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, now residing in Miami Beach, Willie Dynamite’s favorite pastime as a child had nothing to do with toys and everything to do with music. Listening to the local NY radio stations like WBLS and KISS FM captivated Willie from the start. Once his uncle (DJ Sonny D) taught him how to mix he was hooked! He started an official DJ crew and they played for their sixth, seventh, and eighth grade parties leaving the students and staff stunned at their ability to move the crowd through the music they played.

When he entered High School, DJ Scratch (EPMD) introduced him to the man who would become his mentor in music, a man with whom he now refers to as his "Sensei," Super DJ Clark Kent. Clark Kent taught him the keys to selecting the right song and introducing new music without breaking the flow to a party. He provided him the structure to compliment his natural talents. Willie recollects one occasion when DJ Clark Kent let him play a reggae set at Aaron Hall of Guy's Birthday Party in 1990. After coming off of the wheels he overheard someone say to Clark "Why don't you let your man keep going?" Willie turned around only to find that the comment had come from "Heavy D." After a few more gigs with Clark Kent he began to develop his own style and party format and it was at that point he realized he was ready to venture out on his own.
DJ Willie Dynamite was born!

Spinning as a Hip Hop DJ he began to show his true versatility when he was asked to join NYC’s infamous Reggae sound "Soundproof International" (NYC). Soundproof has played alongside NYC’s hottest DJ’s including Self & Will (Da Union) Kulcha, Goldfinger, Ace, SNS & Mister Cee from the world famous Roxy’s, the Brooklyn Museum and everywhere in between!
