As Critical Monday takes us through the beginning of this cold new year, Matt Pompeo & Snyl open up Chapter XVII with ‘Innocent Silent’, a rather dark & emotional trip backed by dizzy arpeggiators and melodic guitars, before the plaintive but charming voice of ANGST vor GRETA makes an opening.

Following up comes the second original of this stunning release from the two producers. Here, we definitely enter the groovier territory, tainted by hints of psychedelic and melodic synths unravelling as we progress through the track.

On remix duties, Alexey Union closes this EP beautifully by taking ‘Innocent Silence’ to darker and sweatier territories, giving another depth to ANGST vor GRETA’s catchy vocals, and offering us a long and immersive break, releasing the last part of the track into an earthquake of blissfulness.

After five tantalizing single releases from their upcoming second album 'Girls Gang’ the trio Dina Summer beckons with ‘Nothing to Hide’ - a serenade and seduction. Quoted by Resident Advisor to be a “brooding slice of nostalgia” the project is a cosmic romance between Greek/German DJ duo Local Suicide and Bavarian producer Kalipo that is set to steal you away to its lair and devour you completely.

‘Nothing to Hide’ is a passionate dance between EBM, synth-pop and dark wave. It sonically emulates the magnetism of lost lovers vibrationally and inescapably drawn to one another - a tremulous lover’s tumble through time and space. The track resonates perfectly with the gothic romanticism found in the cinematic masterpiece “Only Lovers Left Alive" and creates a surreal space where love transcends lifetimes as it weaves through electronic soundscapes. At the heart, the song is a tribute to vulnerability in love and taps into an emotional intensity that is dark, electric and undeniably intimate. Baime and Valon collaborate on this two-track release, blending Northern European influences with a captivating mix of cinematic atmospheres and smooth basslines. The title track takes listeners on an emotive journey, where love is felt in motion.

The EP also features a remix by Argentine artist Golden Hour, who reinterprets the title track by combining traditional electronic elements with modern synthesizers and organic percussion.

Fronted by Greek native Dina P., 'Dina Summer’ is a collaborative band project by djs / producers Kalipo and Local Suicide.

After doing radio shows on local stations as a teenager, Dina began making waves as one of the first female DJs in Thessaloniki. She later moved to Berlin where she met her husband, with whom she formed the duo Local Suicide. The powerhouse has made a name for themselves releasing on labels such as Eskimo Recordings, Lumière Noire, Ombra INTL, TAU & more. Through their exploits, Beatport declared them as one of the key figures in the uprising dark disco scene. Around 2013 they met Bavarian born Kalipo while raving at Rock am Ring festival. At the time he was performing at the festival with his band, Frittenbude who are famous in German speaking countries for their unique mix of electro, punk & rap. Kalipo recently released his critically acclaimed fourth long player on KI Records which features artists such as Rampue, Ira Atari Oberst & Buchner & more.

It wasn’t until 2019 that the trio finally starting working on music together. The result was a unique blend of late ‘90s electro with elements of ’80s disco and new wave.
