Fantasy for Piano, F-sharp minor
Like in the case of my previous ballade, the main theme is one of my oldest one, written on a guitar almost two decades ago, in a secluded house, when I took guitar lessons with my friends under a guise of a senior, eccentric professor who was probably semi-drunk every single lesson.
It came almost seamlessly and it never left my mind, and finally it found a satisfactory growth and expression in a piano composition.
Paul Anthony Romero made spontaneously numerous improvisations on it (He received it with a bunch of other musical themes), and a lot of those variations ended here as a homage to him, as this work is dedicated to him.
Initially the theme was planned as an initial statement in a nocturne I was writing, preceding the main theme, but after Paul's suggestion I separated the two distinct themes and decided it was best to let them grow separately.
The fact that I developed one of my oldest melodies with a superb composer and pianist, and a musical inspiration since high-school, makes me beyond blessed and happy.
The watercolour artwork, like in all other released compositions, is done by Vanja Kalemba.

PROGRAM NOTE
Many composers associate orchestral instruments with animals to great effect, such as Prokofiev with Peter and the Wolf, Rimsky-Korsakov with Flight of the Bumblebee, Saint-Saëns with Carnival of the Animals, and perhaps most obsessively, Messiaen with birds from all over the world. In Soar, I associate the trumpet with an eagle, a bird that can fly as high as ten thousand feet and as fast as two hundred miles per hour. Like an eagle soaring above mountains, Soar requires the trumpet player to play fast and high, and both the trumpet and piano parts are, at times, quite virtuosic. In this sense, Soar is really meant as a show-off piece for expert trumpet players.

Two Too Many is a pensive and introspective piece, where Jeremias Langsämmer carefully balances restraint and emotion. The pizzicato strings establish a quiet pulse, like measured footsteps in contemplation, while the cello and violin add depth and longing. Swelling string textures emerge gently, never overwhelming, but coloring the piece with a sense of unresolved thought. It’s music that feels like an internal dialogue—reflective, searching, and quietly expressive. Langsämmer crafts a space where emotion lingers in the pauses as much as in the notes themselves, making for a deeply affecting listen.

A piano-led meditation unfolding at an adagio pace, As The Light Dims Slowly channels the hesitant phrasing of Erik Satie. Cello, violin, and soft strings offer gentle support, moving in and out of the piano's uncertain light. Sparse and reflective, the piece lingers in moments of pause as much as in sound, capturing the hush of evening as it slowly gives way to night.
