Suciu, still at the ripe age of 27, has already made his name onto a few superb labels, with Body Parts and Pressure Traxx both investing in his bouncier, boppier take on Romanian minimalism. Here at MEOKO we have been lucky enough to get our hands on a mix recorded live at Avi from the man himself, featuring some sick unreleased material and a whole bunch of killer, dubby tech as well. Although at first his mixing seems a bit rogue, it isn't too long until you appreciate the creativity behind Suciu’s style, constantly chucking in new, sludgy baselines for moments of genius - resulting in a tremendous mix which truly ebbs and flows. Get yourself ready for some super subby rollers, twisty bleeps, plenty of spoken vocals and sexy hat drops with this wicked 97 minutes from Suciu.

Prove Them Wrong & Vertigo & Mathei - Zamolxis (BSB Remix) [bonus track]

The next electronic institution we’re profiling is Club Guesthouse, a Bucharest venue that helped lay the foundations for Romania’s famously vibrant electronic landscape. The 400-capacity space has long been the bedrock of Bucharest’s tight-knit house and techno community, hosting a regular rotation of local talents and scene leaders among a small pool of international guests. The sound is as clear as it gets thanks to a Funktion-One system, and as with all of Romania’s best minimal parties, the crowd arrives ready to dance for days on end.

Club Guesthouse resident Dubtil compiled a mix for us to represent the sound of the venue. Across the 2.5 hour session, the Romanian artist explores various hues of house and techno against a familiar backdrop of subdued and rolling grooves.

#099 - Herodot

For our debut we've prepared a special edition fitting not one, but two artists altogether.
This is a live recording from a certain event that took place at The Black Sea coast not long ago (yes, that special festival we all love), featuring a b2b set from Barac, half of NoiDoi duo project and his partner in crime in recent times, Herodot.
It's one of the few recordings (if not the first) on the web under the Barac moniker, probably the best kept gem of the Romanian scene at this point. And these two guys go along so well, as if they were a match made in heaven.
