Born in Eindhoven, without a softly spoken G, the 90's kid Ruben has had a deep relationship with the house genre. Getting inspiration from DJ's such as Carl Cox, Roger Sanchez, Chuckie and Egbert at an early age, the young DJ began his journey sitting behind the computer learning the basics of mixing at 13 years of age in 2011. After 5 years he started creating a series of mixes that were to be published on YouTube under the alias TOYDJ. This was during the era where 'Future House' was at its peak and took advantage of the opportunity. 

After a long while the DJ went to change his alias from TOYDJ to HNDRCKS. Changing his alias according to Ruben was much needed because of the meaning of the name TOYDJ. He said that his name should have a more serious meaning than it had before. The name TOYDJ is short for That One Young DJ, which according to Ruben will not apply when he'll get older. Changing his name to HNDRCKS was the end result as his middle name is 'Hendrik.'

Now back on the set under the alias HNDRCKS his aim is to create mixes and play sets that contain a huge dose of constant energy. Playing at smaller parties and (sometimes illegal) underground venues, the DJ is paving the driveway on his way to success. Time will tell if he'll succeed in his journey to success.
