Attraction of Secret

Was reizt uns Menschen am Geheimnis und dem geheimnisvollen? 
Für einige mag es die natürliche Neugierde sein, ein tief in uns verwurzelter Informationshunger. Besonders in unsicheren Zeiten ist es wichtig, sich ein umfassendes Bild von seiner Umwelt zu machen. Man sollte möglichst viele Parameter und Details über seine Umgebung und Mitmenschen kennen, um somit eventuelle Gefahren frühzeitig zu erkennen und auf ein Minimum zu reduzieren. Ein Geheimniss bzw. geheimgehaltene Information kann über Leben und Tod entscheiden. Auf Hohersee z. B. wo exakte Navigation überlebenswichtig ist. Auch in Wüstenregionen rettet genaue Ortskunde und Wissen über Wasserquellen Reisenden das Leben.
Ein anderer Aspekt ist das Gemeinschafts- und Zugehörigkeitempfinden. Wir wollen als soziale Wesen dazugehören, dementsprechend können vorenthaltene Informationen integrierend oder separierend wirken. Je mehr das Individuum in gewisse Praktiken, Rituale oder auch banale Routinen eingeweiht ist, desto mehr kann Mensch bei einer Gruppe partizipieren. 
Letztendlich reizt an einem Geheimnis auch das nicht Wissen an sich. Es sind genau solche Geschichten, mit offenem Ende oder unvollständig erzählt, die starkes Interesse und eine hohe Faszination ausüben. Dieses "gepannte System" will aufgelöst werden, aber was tun wenn einem niemand sagen will wie die Story endet?
