Label owner of ‘EarToGround’ Gareth’s story  begins in 1992 during the early years of Jungle. By 94 he had developed a very strong addiction to vinyl and London’s underground rave culture. As the years progressed his musical tastes developed to the genre known as Techno. Along the way he has gained over 15 years of underground musical diversity.  This diversity and influence can be heard in his productions. He strives for an over all, forward thinking sound for ‘EarToGround’ aiming to do things differently and come up with something new with each release.  In 2011 he brought Lucy’s Stroboscopic Artefacts to the UK for the first time with two packed out parties at Corsica Studios.  This relationship developed further with  Oblivious Artefacts designing the artwork  for the first series of four releases on EarToGround Records.

Quickly becoming  a highly respected Dj in London, you will never hear the same set twice from Gareth. As in his productions, diversity is the key, his fast pace energetic sets always keep you wanting more. You can regularly  find him behind the decks at fabric and Cable with label compadres Dax J and Chris Stanford.

Luca Bortolo, movement, energy and passion, these are the characteristics of Bortolo's dj set, which can be defined as experimental. The involvement with his public, the transfer that this young dj succeeds to establish are in fact vital elements in his evenings.Young, but with already 12 years experience, Bortolo starts his career as dj production in the Italian, where he was born and raised, Bortolo decides to transform this passion in a full-time engagement interpreting the best way he can the stimulant musical vibration of that moment,with deep , House sonorities and Techno-Detroit. Recently his house productions have hadgreat success in Italy and other countries all over Europe, where he got very positive feedback from DJs such as Luciano, Locodice, Danny Tenaglia, Dj Sneak, Josh wink and manymore. February 2009, his first Ep “Crazy Morning ”, on label Mallory, was placed in the bags of the most important DJs of the House and Techno scene. He proved his talent with the recent release on label’s Robsoul, Catwash and remix for Viva Music, which was played by top DJs, and caused havoc on the dancefloors. Recently Managing Director for the highly successful independent label BEAGLE TRAXX. He has participated as a guest on various radio from Ibiza Global Radio to Radio Studio 80 in Amsterdam. It has shared the console with djs international like: Cassy, Karotte, Sis, Dj Wild, Phil Weeks, Tini, Stacey Pullen, Masomenos, Fritz Kalkbrenner, Chris Carrier, Tiefschwarz, Italoboyz, Dinky, Daria, Mirko Loko, Johnny d, Melchior Productions ltd, and many more.

Welcome to Conversations, my monthly radio slot for Saturo Sounds radio. The idea behind the show is to ask one of my favourite DJ’s to do a guest mix, which I use as inspiration for my set.

For my fifth Conversation, I am delighted to have an exclusive mix from the very talented DJ and producer Erik Bruce.

A South Coast based Progressive/Techno dj and producer, Erik's love affair with electronic music started shortly after he was born. "Music was always being played in the house as I was growing up. Dr Hook, Pink Floyd, Jean Michel Jarre, Tomita, blues, jazz, classical but it was the long car journeys during the school holidays with Jarre playing that really cemented my love of electronic music." Taking in everything from deep house to techno, progressive trance to breaks, Erik's sets are a melting pot of lush soundscapes and haunting melodies sitting side by side with techno beats and energy infused basslines. Erik's productions are also gaining support from Cristian Varela, Paul Bleasdale, Anderson Noise, Scotty.A and more. Having taken up DJ-ing in the early 90's, Erik is now a regular guest at Bournemouth's top progressive and techno night, Terminal @ The Winchester and you can catch Erik co-hosting 'The Mix' on Wightparty Radio every saturday 4 til 8pm (GMT), bringing you the best in underground house, breaks and techno on http://wightpartyradio.com

Direct to Earth is proud to announce its newest resident, the incredibly talented Indy Nyles. Over the last two decades, he has studied the intricacies of analog synthesis and hardware construction. Armed with this knowledge, Indy has built his own multi-faceted instrument rig, pieces of which he transports to warehouses, live venues and nightclubs. All of this in addition to being a versatile DJ and lifelong collector of vinyl.

This set was recorded at our monthly Inner Orbit party at F8 in San Francisco. Indy warmed us up with an incredible breadth of sound all from his custom-built live rig.
