2013 Direct Feed - Drum & Bass Revival

TheUntz.com is thrilled to present an exclusive mix from Jake Atlas, a.k.a. Thriftworks. Deliberately pulsing with eerie effects, shrouded in mystery, and leaning towards the syrupy end of the tempo spectrum, this 30-minute mix is bursting with unreleased content. Thriftworks' signature gooped-out hip-hop instrumentals blend flavors of the east with beats of the west, and the sonic backdrop is primed for getting busy on the dance floor and in the bedroom.

Thriftworks is set to embark on Bassnectar's Spring Tour, which hits a number of (relatively) intimate venues on the east coast. These special shows will be taking place in Boston at the House of Blues, The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD, The Tabernacle in Atlanta, as well as dates in North and South Carolina. A number of those stops include multiple night stands, as well, so fans will get to see a broad spectrum of Atlas' music.

On May 30th, Thriftworks hits Infrasound Music Festival, presented by TheUntz.com. The next night, May 31st, he rejoins Bassnectar at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Other notable stops this summer include Electric Forest, Big Dub Candy Mountain, Gratifly, Firefly, and Sonic Bloom.

One of Long Beach’s greatest Drum N Bass contributors, Direct Feed, has been annihilating dance floors as early as 1995. Originally known as .Com, Direct Feed is the culmination of his versatile aliases. His prismatic taste has led to several assumed names, such as Chaos in Motion, his original Ragga-Jungle alias, as well as his newer projects, Noize Komplaint, GameBanger and Mobb Creep with production partners, Mainframe, Natty Freq and Notation. Direct Feed is also known to partner with Cixelsyd, creating hard DNB, as Fixation. It is this comprehensive understanding of sounds that led to his production career, which began in 2004, and has generated twenty two vinyl releases, two CD releases, and numerous digital releases. Known for his raucous synths and low subs, Direct Feed takes pride in his hip hop influenced music. It is carefully calculated chaos that keeps his crowd packing out the dance floor. In February 2008, his multifaceted musical inclination coupled with his work ethic, led him overseas, doing tours in Belgium, Amsterdam and Austria. Within the United States, Direct Feed has performed coast to coast, from his home state California, to Philadelphia, Washington D.C., New York, Virginia, Maryland, Florida, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada.
