A regular contributor to GDS.FM, Aka-Tony takes pleasure in performing at great venues. Besides; he is curating the Aka-Tapes and Slomosensual podcast series and the Down to Earth party format. He describes his music as "Crowntempo" - a captivating fusion of bass-heavy, danceable electronic tunes with a disco influence and an irresistible groove.

Oak and Hammer - Grove Radio 45 (December 2023) [3h Year End Special]

David Kawka, born on 16 January 1992 in Biel (CH). He grew up in Switzerland but has roots from Poland.

David first discovered his passion for music at the age of 15. At the beginning of his music career, he played EDM. Within a short time, David gained his first notoriety and was able to perform at major events all over Switzerland and internationally. At the same time, David started his own production work and set up his own events under the name "Most Wanted".

2012 was David's most successful year. With many bookings, a label contract and several track releases under the then artist name "Kawkastyle". David was also resident DJ at the Wankdorf Club as well as Liquid Club in Bern and OXA in Zurich. La crème de la crème of the past scene in Switzerland. He also played at big festival venues: Touch the Air, BEA EXPO Extravaganza, Greenfield and many more to name a few.

Some time later, David had to make decisions that led to a break and he had to overcome private hurdles before he concentrated fully on music again. After this difficult time, he focused more on producing and learned a new side. In the meantime, his musical style has changed to techno, deep & tech house.

Today, David owns his label "Solidarity Entertainment Switzerland", which he founded in August 2021. The community is growing and he has also been able to draw various artists under him.

The challenge of finding the perfect balance between music and events is easier said than done. However, he is happy to work for the environment and fellow human beings in the long term and to draw positive effects from it.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year (for some… 🤔). Seeing as how music is the gift that keeps on giving, I thought I’d share the live recording from my set at Sunday Social. It’s a festive special and I hope it makes you groove all the way home from those awkward holiday family gatherings some of you are about to have 😆.  

Sunday Afternoon Social has been a stable in the Toronto house music scene for years with some of the most loyal fans. It was such a wonderful experience to play here: the crowd was so lovely and the production was on point thanks to Box of Kittens x AlienInFlux x Calabra Productions.

Literally an hour after Boris announces that we can see the horizon of beautiful messy sticky dark noisy ravesssss, we are putting out our song about longing for the return of that culture! And I swear down this is just a truly wonderful coincidence! But it makes me feel really verrrrry happy. 🤗🤗🤗

The Blessed Madonna and I had a chat on zoom a few months back now and she was talking in the infinite and naturally poetic way that she does about, well really how everrrrrryone is feeling! And because we were writing it was being recorded! So I sampled it! And tuned her to be singing at times and I just reeallllyyy love it. And also an enormous big ups to the great Boston Bun who we produced it with.
