... were you madly in love into something and you immediately knew it’s going to last forever? “How long is forever? Sometimes just one second.”
Hailing from the sleepy town of Logatec, Slovenia, this is exactly what happened to Christian in the summer of 2008, while hanging at some drum and bass party, with no idea he is about to enter an unexplored pathway.
The pathway is not so unexplored anymore. In 2013, Christian surprised the Slovenian music scene with his original approach to dark ambient music, while he was performing on the Radio Študent’s Club Marathon tour.
Since then, he proved his skills and innovation as a participant at the Red Bull Music Academy, performing on different festival stages (like Sonar in Barcelona, Dimensions in Pula, EMAF in Tokyo), as well as in various clubs from Belgrade to London, from Warsaw to Venice.

1. Which artists has influenced you the most?

- I would say, my biggest influences were the bands on my father cassettes I was listening to as a kid- bands like Depeche Mode, Alphaville, Ultravox. Slowly getting into stuff by The Prodigy as well as DJs like Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, James Ruskin, Umek.
But most important was the period from 2010 afterwards, getting into Berghain/Ostgut Ton related artists, like Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Shed. Was the most important period that got me into making music.

2. What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- I'm just in the process of releasing a 12inch with Le Chocolat Noir on a brand new label KRI, from Ljubljana. I really enjoy making music with him as it just opened new dimensions to me. 
Then we have a new 12inch in a few months on one Berlin based label, can't really tell which one yet, but I'm really stoked to be releasing music on it. Also have some other tunes with him coming out as a part of compilations.
Then, have some plans for my Alleged Witches alias, but I still need to finish to music. 

3. Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?

- Hmm, I still find the music which I've heard on the cassettes as a kid very relevant to me. Depeche Mode definitely. Just endless inspiration for me. Also various other artists, bands, from various music genres, for instance: The Alchemist, DJ Muggs, Deftones, Amon Tobin, obviously still love techno and sets by Ben Klock, Kr!z and his Token label, James Ruskin, Regis and whole Downwards label, Silent Servant, then music released on Ilian Tape or electro stuff by Carl Finlow, Anthony Rother, house stuff by DJ Qu. 

4. What inspires you now to create music?

- No real bigger philosophy about it, except I just have that drive about making it you know. 
Making a track I would enjoy listening to, not just one time, but 5 times in a row. To challenge myself. 
Until I get bored of it or make the next new thing haha.
Especially now, when making together with Le Chocolat Noir. I think some tracks are much more mature, complexed, compared to what I was making in the past. 
Plus of course, the music itself is still some sort of reflection of the World itself or how I perceive it. You know, the society, problems and crises that capitalism produces. I know my music making won't change anything and that's not even my goal, but still, you can draw many inspirations from the state of the world we live in.

Beau Crouch aka b0t23 first started djing in 1998 in California. It started with drum n Bass, break beats, and Acid music in a variety of styles played at warehouse raves and outdoor parties. He became affiliated with groups like Moontribe and the Experimental Liquor Museum w/ Trichome, Ben Milstein, and more.

He began some production in 2003 and has individual tracks on Touchin' bass run by Andrea Parker, Pyramid Transmissions run by ADJ, and Portland Oregon label Buried in Time, where he currently resides with his wife and son. Recently has launched his own digital label called Patterned Media which can be found at patternedmedia.bandcamp.com .

- Pink Floyd, Aphex Twin, Autechre, The Orb, Eat Static, Digitalis, Soul Oddity/Phoenecia, 4e/Khan, Tipper, Luke Vibert, RAC, and more

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- Working on collaborations with Inoperative System from Spain called "Reticle" and with California dj Bartek Industries under the name "Limit B" which has already had tracks on Patterned Media. There is one unreleased, unmastered Limit B tune on this mix. Potentially some of my own b0t23 music will release in the next year, but nothing finished at the moment.

What inspires you now to create music?

- I have no other choice, I am compelled to do it and if I go too long without being creative, I get depressed. Even though I do not release much music or put out many dj mixes, I am always "messing around". Sometimes I get tired of my working alone and reach out to collaborate. This has helped feel connected during the global pandemic that changed our world. Other than electro I recently did a glitchy hip hop and dub dj mix because I love that style as well.

What set-up do you use when creating music?

- For djing, I will use my Technics 1200 turntables, which I have had since 1998, but also dj software like Traktor or Ableton. For production, most tracks are composed in Logic Audio on a MAC. I also have hardware such as the Elektron Model: Samples, Analog Rytm, Behringer TB-3, Modal Industries Cobalt 8, Hologram Microcosm, and more.
