Adam Beyer & Bart Skils ‘Your Mind’ is a classic of the form, streamed over 38M times and judged by Mixmag as one of the greatest techno tracks of all time. Indeed, every Drumcode fan has a special place in their heart for the anthem from 2018.
Emerging NYC producer/DJ Charles D becomes just the second artist to officially remix the legendary track. His ‘Epic Mix’ is a chugging end-of-night weapon that was first played by Adam Beyer to close out Awakenings at the Gashouder during ADE last year. It further soundtracked events including Movement Detroit, Tomorrowland and EDC.

As a promoter, Zankee Gulati’s resumé is no less impressive. Renowned for two blue-chip brands, ‘Bootz’N’Catz’ exploded onto Sydney’s clubland with an array of talent built upon performances from a DJ elite that has included: Nick Warren, Lane 8, Martin Roth, Yotto and 16 bit lolitas. By contrast, ‘Forbidden Tone’ is a newer club night that finds its focus on the deeper side of the underground dance scene with standout sets from Dutch star, Eelke Kleijn, Israeli DJ Sahar Z and Melbourne based artists and sometime collaborators, GMJ and Matter.

Transposing a wealth of experience in the club and commercial arenas, Zankee Gulati’s nascent production career has seen mesmerising performances behind the decks transposed onto a series of original tracks and remix material that has demonstrated no considerable talent and an acute understanding of a sound that fills club floors. Releases on such notable imprints as Clinique Recordings, Soundteller and Massive Harmony Records have illuminated this talent, while the “Breathe” EP on the globally renowned Particles, saw Zankee garner support from across the globe including, Tripswitch, Dmitry Molosh, Paul Thomas and Atish.

Two contrasting remixes of ‘Space Date’ come courtesy of Pleasurekraft and John Monkman, as the three-way collaboration between Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani and Green Velvet continues to thrill. Joining the strong reworks is an unexpected treat for fans; a last-minute inclusion of a fresh new original track from the trio.

Drumcode got its first taste of Pleasurekraft’s unique production touch in 2016 when ‘Dopefield’ dropped on ‘A-Sides Vol.5’. The Swedish/American duo’s exploration of cosmic techno realms made them the ideal candidates to re-work ‘Space Date’. Their contribution is as visceral as they come; defined by a hypnotic vocal arrangement, a stirring call and response melody and propulsive galloping beats fashioned for peak-time moments. No surprise it was a highlight of Adam Beyer’s Ultra Resistance sets and gobsmacked Maceo Plex who requested a promo to play at Time Warp a week later.

Meanwhile Drumcode debutant John Monkman steps up with a very different, but not less deadly reinterpretation of ‘Space Date’. The Brit has impressed in recent times with strong releases on Ellum, Kompakt and his own Beesemyer imprint, and takes this form into DC207. His is a twisted intergalactic re-rub drenched in warped electro, blistering modular sounds and touches of IDM that manages the difficult task of taking the original to darker, more leftfield realms without ever losing its powerful dancefloor pulse.
