Premiere: Deorbiting - The Journey (Niko Schwind Remix) - Stil vor Talent

Fresh from the success of The Shadow Self II last December, which featured Terr and Echonomist as remixers, Berlin duo Yeah But No will release on Distant Echos once again this April with The Shadow Self III. The lead track, Keep Running, picks up where Run Run Run left off: the pair’s 2019 offering that was remixed by Keinemusik linchpin Adam Port.

"With Keep Running, we tell the story of a lost person - in pursuit of social perfection, a life full of constraints and walls - far away from real desires. The only thing that remains is the escape from the self, through an endless labyrinth of wrong decisions. The lyrics continue on from Run Run Run, relating to an inner demon that makes us run away from situations we should really confront.” - Yeah But No.

Keep Running takes the form of a strikingly beautiful cut, as poignant vocal offerings leave us in a state of starry-eyed reflection. Percussive elements build gently, providing a staggered, slow-building rhythm that enhances the moving nature of the title track. An acoustic version comes next, further amplifying Keep Running’s organic nature, before Ivory’s Euphoria Mix takes on a more dancefloor-inspired edge with hard-hitting kick-hat pairings.

Yeah But No is the collaborative project of Fabian Kuss and AEON founder Alex Niggemann. Influenced by hypnotic techno and great pop music, the duo are carving out a haunting sound that is perfectly evidenced in their latest production series: The Shadow Self. The second edition drew support from some of electronic music’s most esteemed artists, including Dixon, Mind Against and Adriatique to name a few, laying the foundation for a similarly successful release on The Shadow Self III.

If you are into discerning sounds of the house and techno region you are more than likely familiar with Cologne based, Dirk Sid Eno. The ‘Durch Die Nacht’ co-founder has come into his own in recent years, providing his own personal twist on sound with his productions that can frequently be found nodding towards euphoric and melancholic atmospheres on labels such as Dantze or KATERMUKKE, where he released the 2020 Summer Hit „DANCE AGAIN“.
 
Simultaneously his versatile DJ sets have become somewhat of a topic, he has the raw ability to intricately diverse between genres allowing different vibes to conversate with each other concluding in a wholesome sound that he is fully invested in.  
 
If you want to target just one of the pivotal moments of his musical journey thus far, you would most likely start with his ‘Morgens in Odonien’ EP, the change in momentum for Dirk as he landed this essential EP. Since the release in 2015 he has only accelerated in an upwards motion, showcasing his sound at the likes of Katzensprung Festival and Danish underground hub, ‘Ved Siden Af’, as well as Swiss very own Klaus and HIve for example.
 
Since its launch in 2018 ‘Durch Die Nacht’ has proudly settled itself firmly amongst the circuit in Cologne and beyond, leading the way for international, high quality bookings such as Magda, Paul Woolford, Robag Wruhme and more.

An ever evolving mixed bag with Sid Eno, which is notably, if not, THE, underlying factor of why his fan base continues to grow, it is hard not to establish a fond connection with this character. It is his attention to detail that remains consistent, whether this is sampling sounds from his extensive world travels, or constructing a mood to mirror a pure reflection of a certain time or place; listening to his music is like a painting or a movie in the form of sound and you can “never leave until the lights come on”.
