Dub Taylor’s ‘Happy Valley EP’ was originally released in 2001 on the 3B label, one of the many exploits of the R.A.N.D. Posse. In recent years the rather rare vinyl copies of this Dub Techno/Dub House classic became more and more sought after and many requests to rerelease it at least in digital form, with modern mastering, came in. So D-Mark, who of course is no other than Jan Gabler, took on the challenge to finally make the three rather experimental sounding gems fit for 2022. We also added an original remix to Happy Valley. Jan aka D-Mark produced it back in 2001,  but unfortunately finished it only a few days too late to be added to the original release and therefor it was sleeping in the vaults for the last 21 years.

It is exactly 10 Years ago since YOSA’s last EP on Dirt Crew Recordings and we are so delighted to welcome him back on the label! We have always had a deep connection with Japan, doing lots of events and visiting regularly. YOSA has always been one of our friends on the forefront of the Tokyo scene. YOSA has had a little break from dance music for the past six years, concentrating more on Pop and Indie music.

In his own words: “I believe this Rainbow EP is worthy for my comeback after 6 years of rest. When I heard the original vocal sample during the pandemic, I almost cried and immediately composed "Rainbow". Then I decided to go back to this house music scene where I used to be. I can see people dancing, laughing, crying with joy, and celebrating a reunion on the grass, under the rainbow with this track.”

Rainbow is a pumping and uplifting deep groover of a track and as YOSA already mentioned a perfect fit for any Summer outdoor dancing event. The second track “Thermae” has a more Disco-fied feel and an irresistible bass line. On the remixes we have a fairly new producer from Japan called “mok”, these two mixes are his first official outings, but he already has produced a big collection of tracks. YOSA says “He is such a genius, and I'm glad to be able to introduce his talent to the world.” Both mixes are chilled, relaxed and dubbed-out journeys with a delicate indie twist. We had to wait five odd years to finally manage to release the very first record entirely produced by Kisk on Apparel Tronic. The label’s co-founder and co-owner put together a stunning experimental mini LP called ‘Weeks’, which contains seven tracks, named after every day of the week from ‘Monday’ to ‘Sunday’. The digital album features a vast range of sonic experimentations, applied on several different tempos and epitomises Kisk’s urgency of changing, during a very defined time span, his perspective on music production. The hard-hitting rhythm sections, the creamy bass-lines and the frantic, eerie atmospheres that he is able to display in ‘Weeks’ haven’t always been the cornerstone characteristics of his musical formation, which so-far have been rotating pretty much around Jazzy House, Jungle and Trip-Hop. However, the style exercise he put in place with this LP explains his tireless determination for finding new motivations, new stimuli and perfectly represents his puzzled, unorthodox, curious personality. ‘Weeks’ is the most accurate example of his versatility and we’re thrilled to introduce you to it, on Apparel Tronic, always on the lookout for innovation, newness and sonic mutation.
