ΦWA (pronounced “Phiwa”, as in “Junglist Phiwa”) is a hobbyist dubstep producer, long-time supporter of bass music and soundsystem culture, and an aspiring / returning DJ focused on dubstep, jungle, and drum and bass.

His sound is heavily influenced by the UK scene, shaped through repeated travels to Bristol, London, Manchester and Leeds. Bristol in particular, with its deeply rooted dub, jungle and bass heritage, has had a lasting impact on his approach to groove, weight and atmosphere.

ΦWA first entered the scene at a young age as a VJ and scenographer within the drum and bass circuit. Some may recognise him from clubs, raves or festivals behind the visuals. This visual background continues to inform his music to this day, with sound understood as space, movement and physical experience.

Phiwa is also an aspiring founder of Soundsystem Culture Weimar e.V., a non-profit initiative aiming to acquire and operate a soundsystem from 2026 onwards, while providing education, knowledge-sharing and networking around soundsystem culture in Thuringia.
