-How long have you been creating music?

I started dj'ing and working with DAW’s about 13 years ago. Around 7 years back I started to take producing more serious.


 

-What do you use to make your tracks?

I use Ableton, Maschine, a Roland System-1, and my pride and joy Roland SH-101, along with a handful of plug-ins and VST's.


 

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?

I first heard of Dirtybird around 2012 after going to a few Hard Festivals in LA.




-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?

Ardalan, I've caught a few of his sets over the years and he can be very eclectic in his selections. He's also no stranger to ACID.


 

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?

The Acid Couier

 

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?

It's really hard to pick one so here's three. Chemical Brothers at Ultra in 2011, everytime I've seen Soulwax or 2ManyDjs over the years, and Brodinski B2B Gesaffelstein at the Key Club in 2012.  

 

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?

Definently some time deep in the future, I'd like to see the integration of man and Artificial Intelligence.

 

-What species of bird best describes you and why?

Probably a Feral Pigeon because I stay in the streets.

 

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?

Having fun with friends.

Javi Lopez - Dress Code

Spaniard artist Avlaro Smart, after his recent releases on Defected, Relief and Flashmob Records makes his first appearance on Techords, teaming up with Argentinian DJ and producer Pinco of Cr2 Records and Roush Label.

Kicking things off is title track 'Baby In The Disco'. The rolling bassline and energetic drums, work nicely with the smooth female vocals creating a warm atmosphere but then, big synths are being added on the drop to rock the dancefloor, creating this way a peak time weapon. Coming up next is b-side track 'Ready', another dynamic tech house cut by Alvaro and Pinco perfect to warm things up.

Spain’s Fer Br has made a couple of appearances on our Birdfeed, and we “W3lcome” him to the main label with this wicked EP. The title tracks thumping bassline and positive vocal messages of ‘Joy, Hope, Peace, Compassion, Unity, Inspiration” are all things we could use a lot more of in this world. “Caleidoscope” complements the funk with a more tech-focused and acid-tinged groove.

Fer BR - W3lcome [DIRTYBIRD]

You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".
