-How long have you been creating music?
I've been producing for about 10 years, but only began making tech house as 35mm 2 years ago.

-What do you use to make your tracks?
Ableton has been my DAW of choice for a while. My go-to soft synths are Serum, Operator, Omnisphere, Sylenth, and Avenger. They all shine in their own way depending on the situation. I have a habit of hoarding plug-ins for mixing, so recently I've been keeping things simple by limiting my choices to stock, Fab Filter, and Native Instruments plugins.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
String Thing and Mr. Spock absolutely blew my mind and sent me deep diving into the catalog a while ago.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?
Will Clarke is on the top of my list. His approach to sound design has always been insanely impressive to me. His drums punch so hard that it feels borderline offensive.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
Don't Say a Word. I grew up incredibly shy. Honestly still a little shy -_-

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
I saw Death From Above 1979 when I was way too young to be there. Everyone in the crowd knew every word to every song, and the energy was at 11 the entire night. I could never forget it.

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
One of the Ed Banger parties in Paris circa 2007. I really got into dance music after hearing those early releases from the label, and I always wished I could experience the energy inside those clubs at the time.

-What species of bird best describes you and why?
Definitely a Hummingbird because I tend to work a mile a minute. I’m always hopping between ideas.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?
Bouncy bass and a good time.

-How long have you been creating music?
I have been making music for 7 years now if we start by counting the hot messes that were my first productions back in 2013 haha.

-What do you use to make your tracks?
Currently, I am using Ableton with a Roland TR-8S and Akai MPK 25 keyboard.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
Ooof man I had to go back in my own catalog to fact check myself lol. I discovered Dirtybird in 05 with that track that Justin and Claude did called Beware of The Bird and have been hooked ever since. Such a weird and dope track!

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?
I would definitely have to say Claude then Kill Frenzy, Ardalan, Shiba San and Eats Everything

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
Definitely Superbad hahaha! Just some friends getting into shit and having a good time

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
It would probably have to be when I saw Lupe Fiasco back in 2016. I'm pretty sure I own every single one of his records.

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
I would probably go back to the late 70's or early 80's to the start of Chicago House. Just to be immersed in all the warehouse parties and the vibe that was surrounding that time.

-What species of bird best describes you and why?
Harpy Eagle. Simply because it's a beautiful bird from the country I was raised in, which is Panama.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?
Everything. The sound they've created, the culture they have, the dope environment and events for fans that exist for them. Every artist on Dirtybird is so friendly and approachable so as a fan its been great to meet them over the years simply just to chat or to tell them how dope their latest release was.

How long have you been creating music?

I started Dalfie about 6 years ago. I was messing about before then but decided to give it one last big push and started the Dalfie project and here we are!

-What do you use to make your tracks.

Abelton, Machine and my bad boy Engineer Robert Etherson.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?

Justin Martin! His sound was so different and unique sounding it completely blew me away! I’ve been a fan of Dirtybird ever since.



-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?

Justin Martin.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?

Turbocharged

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?

The shaman and Utah Saints when I was 10 years old. My dad had some tickets for the concert but was supposed to be babysitting me. He decided it was too good to miss so he took me with him. It was 16's  and over to get into the venue but he managed to convince the security team that I had a medical condition that stopped me growing so that’s why I look so young 😊

That’s the night I became obsessed with the acid house scene.

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?

I would go back to the second summer of love when the acid house scene first started. My dad still tells me all the story’s and it sound fucking amazing!    

-What species of bird best describes you and why?

Definitely a Parrot. I am loud, colourful and you know when in a room.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?

Family and friends pushing musical boundaries.

Dalfie - Call Me Crazy [BIRDFEED]

You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".
