Tresor Records remains one of the most pivotal and definitive labels and nightclubs in underground dance and electronic music. For years it has helped to cement the sound of Electro and Techno representing some of the most unique and innovative artists from across the spectrum of the genre.

Now what better way to celebrate and spotlight the label than by asking two of its latest signings to select their favourite releases from what is an expansive collection of music.

Jensen Interceptor and DeFeKT are two artists who know more than a thing or two about techno and electro themselves – unique and well established in their own right, they have just collaborated to release a new record via the Berlin label.

Together they have recorded an exclusive back to back mix which features music from the likes of Drexciya, The Advent, Joey Beltram, K-Hand, Dj Stingray and Jeff Mills.

John Bryars is a Los Angeles based DJ and producer recognized for his broad tastes and eclectic style. John navigates through Acid, Techno, House, Breaks, Electro, house and Electronic body music multiverse in the pursuit of euphoric, auditory bliss. The music he plays in his sets are defined as broad in taste and eclectic in style.  He has played some of the most iconic Los Angeles parties including:  A Club Called Rhonda, Boiler Room, Mixmag Lab, Lights Down Low, Midnight Lovers, and Future Primitive. John also played festivals including Sunset Campout. John has shared the stage with Avalon Emerson, Lsdxoxo, Answer Code Request, Honey Dijon, Marie Davidson, Danny Daze, Solar, OctoOcta, Gerd Jansen, Lauren Flax, Roman Flügel, Lena Willikens, Interstellar Funk and many others. John has performed on radio shows for NTS, Dublab and KXLU. John has gained international recognition and recently played at Kraftwerk Berlin, Kinky Sundays at PAL in Hamburg and In Mexico City at Funk club. John is currently working on his debut EP along with some collaborations.

Amplify Series 042 - John Bryars (Live in Los Angeles WORK X Dirty Epic June 4th, 2022)

Infinity Division is the alias of electronic producer Ash Luk best known for his innovative blend of euphoric melodies, scattered breakbeats and gabber infused rhythmic chaos drawn from his relentless live performances. In addition to his work with Infinity Division, Ash is one half of the electronic live duo S.A.T.I.N. alongside Ireen Amnes and is also known for his work in Minimal Violence, a project known for their raw, hardware, punk influenced live performances, releasing on labels such as Tresor and Technicolour / Ninja Tune. 

Now, with Infinity Division, Ash continues to build on a body of work that explores the space between genres, combining an attention to detail through carefully constructed sound design with the spontaneity and raw energy of his live performances. 'Satisfaction’ sets the stage for the next phase of Infinity Division, showcasing a collection of tracks that draw from the essence of the past while reaching out toward a mirage of the future. Spanning doomy post-rave and trance-driven metal to breakbeat-infused industrial pop, his debut album 'Satisfaction’ is united by a genre-defying exploration of the elusive essence of anthemic sound & includes remixes from Baseck, Assyouti & DJ Loser & vocal contributions from Zastar of Violent Magic Orchestra, Coy Mistress, and Nova Bruise, enriching the album’s diverse soundscapes.

Amplify Series 119 - Infinity Division

Dirty Epic welcomes aboard @blush-response for our 120th episode of Amplify Series.

BLUSH_RESPONSE is the vehicle for Cuban/American musician Joey Blush's research into the sonic dimension. Reports occur at sporadic intervals, usually in concurrence with the discovery of new planes of existence. Born in Miami, and now stationed in Berlin, Blush has brought his sound experiments to a worldwide audience. He has toured around the world as a solo artist, and as a member of groups such as Scar the Martyr and Front Line Assembly.  He is also a renown sound designer, having done work for companies like Elektron, Yamaha, Arturia, and programming on records from Fear Factory, Cristian Castro, and many more.  

Blush expresses his sound through deep meditation with his electronic instruments, focusing on the interaction between human and machine.  He seeks to both influence and harness the unpredictability of complex electronic instrumentation, in an effort to create an direct expression of his emotions.  This sonic ritualism is exemplified in his prolific reporting of fractalized audio sculpture.  

Blush owns the MEGASTRUCTURE_ label, a haven for sounds on the fringes of reality. You can find his releases on labels such as Artoffact Records Schematic, Aufnahme + Wiedergabe, Ant-Zen, Sonic Groove, and his own MEGASTRUCTURE_.

Dirty Epic welcomes aboard @pooja_b_ikigai for our 121st episode of Amplify Series.

Pooja B delivers raw, textured, and boundary-pushing techno that channels an expansive range of her sonic identity. Her recent appearances include Tresor, RSO, Gegen, Genau Turin & KHIDI. She hosts an event series called Majja (it means fun in Marathi, her mother tongue) and fun is for everyone. The event attracts not only the club kids but also the mature raver & sober ones, queers & allies alike, who may want to engage in music, food and art. With Indian roots and based out of Berlin, she has also curated a diaspora-focused Tresor New Faces, to bring forth BIPOC perspectives in electronic music. She constantly aims to carve space with intention. A recent SLAM Radio feature adds to her growing momentum. She also co-hosts The Coping* Club, a radio show on mental health on refuge worldwide Radio. Like her, her music is often political—drawing a global community that supports her with heart and fervour.

Amplify Series 121 - Pooja B

Dirty Epic welcomes aboard @materielle_music B2B @marienyx for our 122nd episode of Amplify Series.

Materielle is a Los Angeles-based techno artist whose deep, dub-driven sound draws heavily
from the rhythmic syncopations and atmospheric textures of 90s Detroit techno. Fusing
elements of heavy, hypnotic basslines with intricate patterns and immersive reverb, Materielle’s
music taps into the raw energy and experimental edge of underground techno, with an
emphasis on subtle detail and emotional depth.

A self-taught producer with a decade-long career in music technology, Materielle has cultivated
a distinctive sonic palette shaped by the teachings of pioneering artists like Rødhåd, Ben Klock,
Claudio PRC, and Richie Hawtin. The project’s name, Materielle, is inspired by the delicate art
of weaving—an analogy for the artist's approach to music, where sound is crafted through
layers and textures, much like fabrics are woven together to create something new.

Since 2019, Materielle has honed her craft as a DJ, transitioning seamlessly into production with her track singles, Satin and Organza on Delusional Records and the release of her debut EP, Fabrique on Northern Parallels. The EP, which features the tracks Nylon and Neoprene, with
remixes from Mike Derer and Raytek, has garnered attention for its unique blend of hypnotic
grooves and emotionally charged atmospherics. Materielle’s recent release, a remix of Orly
Gal’s track, The Man Without a Face, was chosen by Beatport for their November 2024 Techno
Shortlist (peak/driving), further solidifying her growing presence in the techno scene. In early
2025, she contributed the track Kevlar to the Synthetik Minds VA Compilation, a benefit release
supporting Los Angeles fire relief efforts. The compilation features a lineup of major artists from across the global techno scene, underscoring Materielle’s commitment to both artistic
collaboration and community impact. Fall of 2025 she releases her next single “Chiffon” on the
forthcoming Split Checks Records VA Compilation.

Marie Nyx is a Los Angeles–based DJ, producer, and label head whose sound bridges electro, techno, and experimental electronica with roots in post-punk, new wave, and darkwave. She has brought her infectious, high-energy style to stages at HARD Summer, CRSSD Festival, Insomniac events, and prominent underground institutions like The Lot Radio. With releases on Delusional Records, Boysnoize Records, Obskur Music, Synthetik Sounds, Hidden Symbols, and Dark Heaven, Marie continues to push boundaries as both an artist and tastemaker. In 2025, she founded Synr, a label dedicated to forward-thinking electro, techno, and experimental sounds, solidifying her place as a driving force in the underground electronic scene.

John is an old and dear friend of ours here at Lights Down Low. He has been attending our parties since pretty much our inception and we actually had him perform live for our 4th anniversary party back in 2009. Since then John has shifted away from his live performances and emerged as an amazing up and coming DJ in the La scene. We’re honored to include him in our mix series ahead of his debut dj performance at Lights Down Low for our annual Halloween Rave to the Grave event.

John Bryars passion for music started at an early age with piano and soon after started playing drums. He continued to develop his musical abilities and began playing in a band drawing inspiration from artists including Sonic Youth, Fugazi and Blonde Redhead. He bought his first pair of turn tables and began spinning and collecting records during his senior year of high school.

After moving to San Francisco to attend art school, John formed the two piece band The Tenderlions in 2007. They were well received for their unique mix of live electronic and acoustic elements. The Tenderlions released several EP’s as well as singles and remixes through various labels such as Om Records. The live electronic duo had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the likes of The Prodigy James Murphey, and Simian Mobile Disco as well as playing reputable venues like The Warfield, Mezzanine, and Shoreline Amphitheater as well as various festivals. 

John is currently based in Los Angeles and is recognized for his broad tastes and eclectic style. He has played Legendary Los Angeles parties such as A Club Called Rhonda, Lights Down Low, Midnight Lovers and Future Primitive. He has DJed alongside Solar, Lina willikens, Marie Davidson, Octa Octa, Interstellar Funk, Honey Soundsystem, Gerd Janson, Honey Dijon, Maya Jane Coles and many others. He has done radio shows for NTS, Dublab and KXLU. He has played various festivals such as Sunset Campout and is working on an EP set to release early next year.
