This year, the spanish techno legend Oscar Mulero will return to the stage at rural, and we are happy to share the recording of his closing set at “rural at New Acao” in 2022.

This three-hour raging techno set guided the audience to the most intense and deeper world in the otherworldly main floor of “New Acao”, a gorgeous Showa-era building overlooking the sea.

At the intersection of techno's industrial past and its avant-garde future stands Phase Fatale, the Berlin-based project of Hayden Payne. His 2020 album, Scanning Backwards, was specifically engineered for Berghain's acoustics, reflecting his deep connection to the club's sonic environment.

Beyond his productions, Payne co-founded the BITE label in 2018, aiming to platform artists operating outside conventional techno paradigms. With a roster that includes both emerging talents and established names, BITE has become a beacon for those seeking the fringes of electronic music

Dirty Epic welcomes aboard @bas-mooy for our 118th episode of Amplify Series.

Bas Mooy (1976) has been a driving force in the international techno scene for over twenty
five years. Hailing from Rotterdam, the Netherlands, he has carved out a distinct niche with
his dark, powerful, and uncompromising sound. As a DJ, producer, and label owner, Mooy
continues to shape the future of techno with a fierce dedication to quality and innovation.

For almost twenty years Bas was a member of the Rotterdam underground collective ‘Strictly
Techno’, creators of over a hundred legendary parties since the late nineties. Since the start
of Mord Records the focus shifted towards hosting label nights all over the world, in
legendary clubs such as Berghain (Berlin), Basement (New York), Fold (London), Perron
(Rotterdam) and Tresor (Berlin).

Mooy’s productions have found a home on some of the genre’s most respected labels,
including Mote-Evolver, 47, Pole Group, Perc Trax, Planet Rhythm, and his own imprints,
Mord and Audio Assault. Launched in 2013, Mord quickly became a vital platform for cutting-
edge techno, showcasing both established artists and fresh talent from around the globe.
With its raw, industrial aesthetic and consistently forward-thinking releases, Mord has
solidified its place at the forefront of the underground.

As a performer, Bas Mooy is known for his intense, high-energy DJ sets that span the
spectrum of dark, hypnotic, and driving techno. He has performed at some of the world’s
most renowned clubs and festivals.

Whether in the studio, behind the decks, or curating his label’s next release, Bas Mooy
remains to constantly push the sound forward, while staying true to its underground roots.
With Mord Records turning 12 in 2025, Bas shows no sign of slowing down.

The fourth edition of SHDW’s flagship ‘Federation Of Rytm’ VA series has been carefully curated by the DJ/ producer and head honcho over more than a year, with close attention to detail given to sequencing. It is a balance of label regulars and debutants that represents the past, present, and future, both sonically and through the generational diversity of the artists involved.
