The journey to stardom began on December 10, 1986 in a little Southern town called Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Being the eldest of two siblings my brother and I always had to find something to do to give us entertainment, at the tender age of 6 that I began to mimic other artist and my love for music and dance ensued. I discovered that I could sing and I was extremely good at it. To keep me occupied and on the straight and narrow my grandfather George Eason put me into choir because he recognized this young man has talent. As the usual story goes I started singing gospel and as I grew older transitioned into the world of Rhythm and Blues. From my music journey I discovered I was also good at writing poetry, this help my transition into the world of hip hop music. With being a child of the 80’s I was smack dab in the middle of the “golden age” of the hip hop movement.  At this point I could sing, dance, and rap this is what I like to refer to as the triple threat.

I have been influenced by many different music genres, but the melodic sounds old school R&B is the closet to my heart. I have personal and favorite performers that I feel have helped mold me into who I am, and have helped me on my path to becoming one of the greatest performers. I enjoy the cool groove and soulfulness of Marvin Gaye, and the pure charisma, stage presence, and genius of that of the one and only James Brown and Michael Jackson. They exude pure entertainment when they hit a stage. Their entertainment ability is un-matched and extremely hard to duplicate and imitate, but always a crowd pleaser. As far as my hip hop roots are concerned I am forever indebted to the late great Tupac Shakur. He brought so much realness and life to his words, he didn’t just say things that rhymed or sounded good over a beat, but he also educated our generation through his words. He gave us something to think about, he had the ability to make people understand what he was going through at any given point while listening to his work. This is ultimately the type of impression and feeling that I would want to leave on people as they listen to my work. Another heavy hitter with in the music industry who gave me my stamp of approval of this is what I should be doing with my life is DJ Quik. He pulled me aside and told me back in 2008 “You have to find your niche.” and with hard work and dedication to your craft you can to be amongst the pantheon of legends within the music industry. Which now the legacy is being discovered.
