Don't Step On The Trufflulas

GRANULAR SYNTHESIS AND BLACK MIDI ! OH MY! 

SO....this track is an experiment (but very listenable). 

--The first thing you hear is a simple drum beat (it's 4/4 but has a sort of complex math pattern to the repetion.) 

--At 3 seconds, the granular synth starts. It's Travelizer within Reaktor within Cubase. It's a deconstruction of a 60 second BipTunia radio ad. (You can hear the unaltered ad immediately after the very end of the track so you know what I started with.) I play the granular track on a keyboard after assigning ranges from within Travelizer.  

--At 3 minutes, 12 seconds, two things come in together, and continue to the end of the track. One is a whole-tone long tritone bass pedal thing. The other is some continually changing mellow beats in the Reaktor Groovebox called Go Box. I changed parameters in a pleasing way as it played. 

--At 16 minutes and 20 seconds, some black midi piano comes in. Just because. lol. 

--The song proper ends at 25 minutes, 11 seconds. Just after the song is the ad I sampled to granulate in Travelizer. 

NO OTHER SYNTHESIZERS OF ANY KIND WERE USED IN THIS SONG! (RIP Freddie Mercury). 

If you don't know, GRANULAR SYNTHESIS is a fairly new thing in this form. Basically you import audio, and the program chops it up into thousands of tiny samples, called a "cloud." Then rearranges them on the fly from what you play on a keyboard, also dependent on your settings.

Can Grains in a Tornado Go Right Through Ya?

Work in progress. Gonna layer a solo over it at least. Maybe some talking too.

I'm counting this as what looks like 8 and 1/8th "measures" of music, that then starts over. 

It's probably actually just in 2/4 for eight measures, then in 1/16 for one measure. then starts over.

Anyone who can conclusively prove to me what time sig this is, I'll send you some free BipTunia stickers.

Borne from a little piano riff. Enjoy! Still in draft form. I may improve later, and add something. This one really resisted my rearrangements. It spoke to me and said it had to be this way. A rarity in my case!
