Devastated to think that this could be a lost project, Shame I don't have a better mix exported either. I think this was exported in September 2013 and left in the pile of wips I write. The name of the project still runs true...

Just as the sun finally arrives, so does the long awaited Dub Fx - ‘Theory of Harmony: Remixes’ album on Audioporn Records, featuring reworks of Dub Fx’s hit album by some of bass music’s biggest names, including Krafty Kuts, Xilent, Gaudi, BCee & Villem, Shimon, High Maintenance, Makoto, Spoonbill, Dreadzone, Random Movement, Dilemn, James Marvel & Hypoxia, Champion, and many more.

‘Theory of Harmony: Remixes’ LP covers all bases, from killer-dance floor bangers to smooth summer rollers, Dub Fx’s soulful vocals combine perfectly with some of bass music’s biggest and brightest talents. The remixes are receiving radio support from the likes of DJ Target on BBC Radio 1, Sian Anderson on 1Xtra, Joe Ford and Charlie Tee on Kiss FM, and Stamina on Rinse FM the album’s release coincides with Dub FX’s stunning new live show, which he will unleash upon UK audiences as part of his first comprehensive national UK tour, proudly presented by bass culture’s biggest tastemakers, UKF.

Over the last few years, the Technique Recordings “Annual” LP release, has become a welcome fixture of the DnB calendar. Even the most dub-hungry of deejays or ravers might have let a few shellers slip by unnoticed through the year, so this album has become the one-stop shop to re-up with the last twelve months of firepower. And, for the uninitiated, this is the opportunity to get a three-sixty view on the reasons Technique is one of the biggest and most respected labels in the scene.

This compilation proves it's big boy credentials from track one. The former Radio 1 drum 'n' bass gatekeeper Friction remixing the anthemic sounds of Tantrum Desire's “Genesis” is a powerful statement of intent. And that level of huge, nuclear explosive floor-fillers pepper the tracklisting. Drumsound & Bassline Smith take head tops with “Thug Killer” and their relick of Tantrum Desire's “Pump”. L Plus takes things a step more euphoric with “Going Away”. North Base deliver the mighty soul-infused Ewan Sim-laced “I'm Forgiving Love”. There are monumental pieces of DnB majesty everywhere you look.

And, if you zoom in a bit closer, you'll find real musical and production innovation. Check the John B and L Plus team-up on “Original 80s” for cinematic panoramas woven into classic synth-pop vibes. Watch for the blending of heavy guitars and a percussive masterclass in Erb N Dub and North Base's “Punk Rock”. And pay close attention to the understated gem that is Tapolsky and VovKING's “88”. Plus, of course, by now we must all know about the way Document One distil a multiplicity of genres into their dancefloor formulations.

But that's just scratched the surface. A glance down the tracklisting reveals yet more drum 'n' bass mastery ready to discover. Undeniably, 2017's been a good year for Technique Recordings, and even the eighteen tracks on this compilation tell only part of the story. The “Technique Annual” gives us a lot but this music is an addictive substance. Fortunately, 2018 is just round the corner, and there's a lot more Technique to come.

Shannon Swain - Let Me Down (Ben Sage Remix)

Jasmine and Sebastian aka Dirty Work are not only a producer duo, but a real life couple sharing the same passion about drum and bass and music in general. Meeting in 2009 and being together since, their musical experiences equals more than 20 years. Inspired by Andy C, Zinc, Friction and Hazard, Sebastin took his first steps into Braunschweigs night life playing sets at local clubs in 2005 and got joined by his girlfriend five years later. After moving in together they quickly decided to arrange a home studio to be able to record and produce their own songs. What firstly startet to be free time fun, became more serious by time, as they now reached a level of improving themselfs into professional music business. Focusing on a combination of jump-up and melodic dance floor DnB for their own songs, they still heat up the party crowds by mixing in neuro tunes as well. Filling their songs with commitment, enthusiasm and love to not only inspire those, who allready love drum and bass, but also welcome everyone that is passionate about danceable music.
