Niil' or also known as "Niilvana," was a power trio of Porto Alegre-RS founded by Ícaro Fontoura in December 2009.

They are influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Bad Religion, Foo Fighters, Them Crooked Vultures, and more.

With their first EP (Insomnia, released in December of 2010) the band came to perform at Poa and around, soon after playing in other states they focused on finishing their first album ( Niil', released in 2012).

A year after they follow in their new formation (Cristo - Drums / Icarus - Guitar) and still perform often in the city of Poa and close cities, they also finish their second album ( Niil' - Labyrinth, released in 2016) within a few weeks. and 27a in 2018. Then, the band separated in 2023 but recorded 4 final songs in January of 2024 

On October 2nd, 2024, Ícaro Fontoura passed away at age 32, making fans release compilation albums like "Pneumonia" or "The Empty Box," etc. 

The bassist of the band claims Ícaro is still alive and just is away from the internet others say otherwise.
