Sinchi Collective member Hary Shanthi serves up his second release on the not for profit Sinchi label with remixes from MR TC and Tushen Raï.

Hary Shanthi is a deeply earnest sound designer and a lifelong student who experiments with technology and believes in the "Management of Varied Frequencies." With this new release, he serves up an ode to his Indian culture that provides a glimpse into "the non-dualistic nature" of Kashmir Shaivism, a philosophical system that emerged in India around the 12th Century.

The fantastic 'Urumi' is his reconstruction of his first encounter with a monistic Shaiva saint and the transcendental percussive journey that followed. It is a truly magical nine-minute trip that layers up broken beats and drawn-out synth leads into a hypnotic electronic landscape. Breakdowns come alive with exotic percussion and subtle acid sounds while the bold bass never lets up to make for what will be an indelible dance floor impact.

First to remix is Glasgow's MR TC, who heads up Phase Group Records and has released on Optimo Music, while playing cult favourites like Panorama Bar and Dekmantel Selectors. His melon-twisting version is loose and freaky with scattered hand drums and eerily atmospheric grooves designed to keep dancers in a state of trance.

Hard Fist co-founder Tushen Raï is a notorious collector who plays everything from Turkish psychedelics to Romanian cold wave and tribal techno. His cross-cultural sounds come to the fore on his Anti War Mix, which is chugging, psyched-out tribal disco for smoky backrooms that like to get weird. The Dub he offers up is a cavernous one with plenty of cosmic FX, twisted leads and crisp drum patterns.

This is a cultured package of deeply moving sounds from Sinchi, with all sales donated to the Sinchi Foundation that supports indigenous peoples worldwide.

PREMIERE – Martin Matiske – Kotodama (Nocta Numerica)

Mapinguari is a mythical monstrous jungle-dwelling spirit from Brazilian folklore said to protect the forest and its animals. It is described as a former human shaman turned into a hairy humanoid cyclops with a gaping mouth on its abdomen and feet turned backwards to confuse those trying to track it. It is also the name of the debut EP of the talented Brazilian producers Mandruvá and Torstol on the beloved-by-all Belly Dance Services. On board the mystical adventure, honchos Leonor (SXDNS034) and A-Tweed (SXDNS222) with two stunning remixes of the title track.

This is not the first beast Mandruvá and Torstol fight together. “Boiuna” and “Herança Humana”, previously and respectively published on Monada and Pauken & Trompeten, are maybe signs that the promising partnership tends to keep pouring high-quality Tropical electronica for the foreseeable future.

A-Tweed, in turn, needs no introduction amid the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene. The master of the danceable weirdness strikes again with a solid interpretation of “Mapinguari”: He managed to keep the complexity of the original but soaked the monster with an unfathomable amount of acid and percussive elements. Brother Mapin would bleed his feet dancing to it!

Back in the days, we were big fans of Righeira, an Italian duo formed in Turin in 1983, that comprised schoolmates Johnson and Michael Righeira. Together, they explored some of the main rising genres of the time such as Italo Disco, Synthpop, and New Wave. 

If their name has not rung the bell so far, the title of the track premiered here today will certainly help you out. Got it now? There you go! Released as the second single from their debut eponymous studio album, “Vamos A La Playa” fast hit the charts and catapulted the duo’s career. 

Forty years later, the classic is once again revisited, this time on the hands of the creative Mexican project Damo Mementto, formed by The Jonjo, also known as Tony Privoltia, and Max Kracer, aka "The Maxician". Their forthcoming endeavour, "TORMENTTA", comes packed with nostalgia by presenting four iconic 80s & 90s unforgettable gems, heavily revisioned, twisted, and wrenched, though. The Righeira’s sunny and frolic creation is now an intense and embodied cut with an Italo-meets-Post-Punk gait, ready to bring another 40 years to the legacy of the original.

With their label Correspondant, Jennifer Cardini has pursued a progressive dance sound with a far-flung group of established and upcoming artists. Since 2011, more than fifty EPs have been put out. At the beginning of 2017 Jennifer Cardini and her partner Noura Labbani will start a new label, Dischi Autunno. 
With Dischi Autunno, Cardini and Labbani will release rock, indie, ambient, prog and experimental music directed to the home listening experience. The label will publish solely albums which will be made available on LP, CD as well as digital with !K7 as distributor. The first catalogue number will be “Holy Ghost People” by Dutch artist Dollkraut.
Each record will have unique artwork created by UK visual artist, photographer & film maker Stevie Anderson. Exploring altered mind states with symbolic and metaphorical images Anderson will add a visual dimension to Dischi Autunno´s music.
