People often ask me how I go about choosing which songs I remix.  For me, there really is no process.  Sometimes I'll hear a song, and instantly something goes off in my brain that starts filling in other melody lines and chords, or that has me hear the vocal in a different way.  Such was the case when Mija sent me her new tune 'Secrets.'  I wanted to take what she made and go harder, while keeping the essence of the main tune in tact.  S/O to Mija for letting me do this, and S/O to NESTHQ for the premiere! ⚙

There's a longstanding Halloween tradition in the electronic community. It started in 2012 with the release of drumstep pioneer @Figure's 'Monsters Vol. 1' compilation. Six tracks of mind-melting bass, breaks, and horror movie samples. It was a grave departure from the standard dubstep and drum n bass that was pumping through SoundCloud and VacayVitamins at the time. A cinematic terror experience. Eight volumes later and a marked evolution in his sound, Figure and his 'Monsters' compilations have risen and matured above the ground from which they came.

Today, we feature Figure's sacrificial offering for the 2017 Halloween festivities. Thirty minutes of his refined, soul stealing trap and drumstep. After five years of watching his seasonal weapons of mass destruction melt the walls in venues all around world, hosting this mix on NHQ is an honor and privilege. This isn't just a delicious pumpkin spice and door-to-door candy hunting adventure, either. This is evil incarnate.
