A new year, a new episode of Bordello Radio! IAMNOTAROBOT is the project of music lover, hyperactive producer, DJ and voice over actor Sergio Mesa. He started at 11, cutting and pasting tapes and making his own mixes. He began his professional career as a radio DJ in 1996, started producing in 1999 and is currently curating the Kosmorama Disco label with his friend Dave Jornet (Strange2, Des Âmes Libres). Enjoy!

Rosie and Nadia are steadily making waves as they embark upon a musical voyage which is bound to see them travel far. The pair have exceptional taste which is perhaps best showcased via their appearances on Balamii Radio. Together they play an eclectic array of electronic music which spans a magnificently wide breadth - from new wave to post punk, electro to house, synth escapades to abstract techno and so much more. They meander between genres and styles with exceptional style and grace. These two are the real deal. 

We invited them to contribute to our ever growing mix series as they deliver an assortment of music which they describe as a representation of 'dark desires'.

Benjamin Fröhlich is a man that needs little introduction in our eyes. As DJ, producer and label owner of one of the strongest running labels at present, the Munich-based virtuoso has delivered a colorful contribution to the electronic music landscape for quite some time now and has done so in extraordinary fashion.

Fresh from compiling Compost Records’ iconic Future Sounds Of Jazz vol. 14, alongside Tom Bioly, we fired some questions across, covering the compilation, Permanent Vacation, his work as a producer and things to come, next to him carving out a sublimely energetic mix aimed towards a dance floor setting.

Cosmo Vitelli hasn’t slept since 1973. Instead, he’s replaced slumber with the tireless exploration of dance music, sharing his finds as an accomplished DJ and label manager but also as an esteemed producer, with heaps of records, remixes and edits under his belt.

After spending his childhood between West Africa and Central France, a young Cosmo Vitelli moves to Paris in the early 90s. More indie kid than clubber, closer to rock, post-punk, and krautrock than techno, he plays guitar in various rock bands until he figures out he’s having more fun fiddling with a 4-track recorder and a sampler than with guitars.
 
He releases his first in 1998 on Etienne de Crécy’s Solid, followed by a string of EPs and remixes that are now part of the DNA of this golden era for French electronic music, notably his album Clean which Virgin releases in 2003. After a stint in the ruthless world of majors, Cosmo Vitelli creates I’m a Cliché in 2004. His fiercely independent label stands out to this day in the underground electronic music landscape for its uncompromising approach, simultaneously paying tribute to venerable figures and taking risks by exploring music from the margins, with a distinctive knack for finding talented artists before they break through (such as Simian Mobile Disco, Azari & III, Moscoman and Red Axes).
 
In parallel, he’s rekindled his love for guitars and pop music with Bot’Ox, Vitelli’s side-project with Julien Briffaz of Tekel. They released EPs on labels such as DFA and DC Recordings, LPs on I’m a Cliché and toured extensively, even scoring a gig at L’Olympia in Paris.

Currently based in Berlin where he’s relocated his studio, Cosmo is back to releasing music under his own name. In the last few years, he has released several EPs on I’m a Cliché and an LP of edits and reworks, as part of the Edit Service series. 

2019 was a busy year for him, with acclaimed releases including Holiday in Panikstrasse, a two-part LP for Malka Tuti along with the Un Episode Psychotique EP on Ivan Smagghe’s Les Disques De La Mort. This will carry on in 2020, with the release of a triple LP compilation entitled “Bongo Beats & Bankruptcy: The Sound of I’m a Cliché” he’s curated for his own label.

When he is not in the studio or travelling for gigs, he curates No Weapon Is Absolute along with DJ Sundae for a monthly show on London’s NTS radio.

Disco Frisco Guest Mix: Super Italo (Hungary)

Label and podcast series run by DJ, selector and vinyl digger Johnny Yenseits who started his career with organizing and playing at raves at a Viennese nightclub located in a former pedestrian underpass in mid 2000s. As a subversive supporter of the underground scene he’s curated and played at hundreds of club events. In his vinyl-only sets he loves to mix various styles like Leftfield-, Balearic-, Afro Cosmic- and Italo-Disco with New Beat, EBM, Electro, House, Techno and Trance, not only vintage but also contemporary productions from his collection of 12,000 records. Since 2009 Johnny’s hosted the Disco Frisco DJ mix podcast as well as the eponymous event series with greatest passion. In 2021 he started his label for contemporary electronic music ARCHAIC FUTURE SOUNDS.
