Signals 13 has landed courtesy of Crete based DJ and Producer, Fragedis. 

During the mid 90s, Fragedis started frequenting clubs and parties, where he developed a keen ear and immersed himself in the electronic music scene. It was around this time that he started collecting records and CD's, which led to him becoming a DJ. He then worked in a record store for 5 years, fuelling his interest even further. Fragedis has become a widely respected artist, and has had the pleasure of sharing the decks with DJ's such as Alienata, Pasiphae and Delta Funktionen. 

It was around 2005 when Fragedis started to produce music - first toying with Reason, then later moving on to Ableton Live. Fast forward to 2019 and he's released on a plethora of well regarded labels such as Pi Electronix, Phormix, Soil, Negative and Modal Analysis - check out his Intersection EP, it's seriously good. Keep an eye out for future projects, there are plenty incoming. 

For this hour Fragedis has expertly pieced together a stellar blend of Electro, with hints of wave and body music throughout. This is a really good one.

Meet @ottomangruw, the mutant electronic music project of interdisciplinary artist Jean Grünewald. Blending industrial techno, EBM, electro, and noise music with a contemporary rave aesthetic, OTTOMAN GRÜW's music is characterised by distorted voices, raw analog percussion, and otherworldly noises. Self-described as "intergalactic body music," the project's live performances combine punk attitude with hardware drum machines and synthesisers for an immersive, transformative experience. On DJ duties, OTTOMAN GRÜW delves into the dark and cathartic corners of sound with a dash of chaos. In addition to making music, OTTOMAN GRÜW also launched "Dance Across Borders," a platform against borders and state brutality.

RNDSTD / RANDSTAD is one of the music monikers of multi-disciplinary artist Thomas van Linge. He is the Co Founder of record labels BAKK and Rubber and the RUBBER TIJD podcast series and lives and works in Berlin. His work covers a variety of disciplines, varying from sculpture and installation to video and sound work, music, and more recently artificial intelligence and the web2/web3 realm. This trans-disciplinairy approach lends itself to take inspiration from a broad spectrum of contemporary cultural phenomena, such as: the ethos and visual heritage of (electronic) music, internet iconography and countercultures. 

For his Sonidos Subterraneos podcast he selected a diversity of raw and distorted tracks from different traditions and decades of techno and electronic music.

Hello folks, after a short break on Soundcloud and some fulminant Blank Wave parties with Perel, Shubostar and Lauer, we're back again with a highly anticipated double feature: Welcome Andi, the New York City-based DJ and producer, who is also founder of the dark synth and industrial party and label, Synthicide. She contributed this marvellous exclusive mix for our Blank Wave series and is also playing her debut in Frankfurt on our event on Saturday, June 16 2023, at ono2 accompanied by Shia LaBiff. 

Andi now holds her ninth-year residency at Brooklyn’s notorious venue Bossa Nova Civic Club. Her aesthetic combines her devotion to underground 1980s industrial, EBM, new beat, and sleazy synth whose dark beats create an exciting soundscape that is unarguably danceable. She has DJed all over the world and is known in niche music circuits for her ability to mix together older tracks with new ones to create a diverse and unique set. Additionally, Andi is part of the ItaloMatic crew, a resident at The Lot Radio, and a resident DJ at the dark 80s new wave night, Music For the Masses.

Her own productions aim to challenge the expectations within the confines of the masculine EBM genre, often focusing on the ideas of revenge and strength through a woman’s perspective. Andi released her first EP, Corpse to Corpus, on aufnahme + wiedergabe in 2020, the Torque Force split EP with Randolph & Mortimer on Mecanica Records in 2021 and recently the EP Compelling Evidence on a+w. Now available for pre-order via Mannequin Records is her Parafernales EP feat. Machino.

For the 18th episode, Athens based Morken invites Oliver.
Oliver has cut his teeth as an artist in London’s clubs and warehouses, born from within the capital's neglected walls and spaces. His sonic interests lay in a non-purist approach, a resistance against convention. With previous releases on labels such as Oraculo Records & Mosaique Records, 2023 marks the birth of his own imprint, launching with a six track compilation by various artist, setting the tone for the label.

The fusion of techno, post-punk and EBM with industrial textures, produce the hectic yet bold rhythms that define his work. Often creating ominous and unsettling atmospheres, his use of quivering basslines and pulsating beats paired with distorted synths and decaying vocals evoke dystopian imagery entangled in visceral impulse.
