Morah - Intergalactic Fm Festival 2021

The centennial podcast of this series is brought to us by Morah. At some point in his career, the dark prince of Athens and resident of the Phormix label and event series achieved a unique and iconic status with his unconventional take on gritty electronic music that transcends genres. The first time we experienced this in the flesh was in the old Griessmuehle location on the Sonnenallee in 2019 and were blown away.

Whether it was his debut release on Helena Hauff's label, or the many life-changing performances over the years that are well-documented, his body of work speaks for itself as he graces labels such as Berceuse Heroique, Vanila, Brokntoys, Lux Rec, and most recently on Body Musick as well as a self-released album called Zesta. He's captained the Phormix event series as a resident and is a core part of the Athens crew whose label boasts some of the most exciting releases coming out. He's added another time-lasting performance to his list during the most recent DT Camp two weeks ago. It should be no surprise that we invited him as a special guest for our ADE event together with Pinkman Records on October 19th and can't wait 

These are trying times for all with many significant global events taking place almost daily. With this as the backdrop, we hope this series has brought some enjoyment. Thank you very much to the artists that have contributed to the series over the last two years and to the listeners for tuning in every week. We look forward to seeing all of you on the dance floor. Hello folks, after a short break on Soundcloud and some fulminant Blank Wave parties with Perel, Shubostar and Lauer, we're back again with a highly anticipated double feature: Welcome Andi, the New York City-based DJ and producer, who is also founder of the dark synth and industrial party and label, Synthicide. She contributed this marvellous exclusive mix for our Blank Wave series and is also playing her debut in Frankfurt on our event on Saturday, June 16 2023, at ono2 accompanied by Shia LaBiff. 

Andi now holds her ninth-year residency at Brooklyn’s notorious venue Bossa Nova Civic Club. Her aesthetic combines her devotion to underground 1980s industrial, EBM, new beat, and sleazy synth whose dark beats create an exciting soundscape that is unarguably danceable. She has DJed all over the world and is known in niche music circuits for her ability to mix together older tracks with new ones to create a diverse and unique set. Additionally, Andi is part of the ItaloMatic crew, a resident at The Lot Radio, and a resident DJ at the dark 80s new wave night, Music For the Masses.

Her own productions aim to challenge the expectations within the confines of the masculine EBM genre, often focusing on the ideas of revenge and strength through a woman’s perspective. Andi released her first EP, Corpse to Corpus, on aufnahme + wiedergabe in 2020, the Torque Force split EP with Randolph & Mortimer on Mecanica Records in 2021 and recently the EP Compelling Evidence on a+w. Now available for pre-order via Mannequin Records is her Parafernales EP feat. Machino.

Blank Wave Guest Mix 012: Andi

Fourth episode is by PARASITE, the electronic music project of Kurt C Calleja. The fusion of techno, post-punk and EBM with industrial textures, produce the hectic yet bold rhythms that define his work. Often creating ominous and unsettling atmospheres, his use of quivering basslines and pulsating beats paired with distorted synths and decaying vocals evoke dystopian imagery entangled in visceral impulse.

Opioid Slot Machine was originally formed as duo, comprising Grigoris Kordellas and Lakovos Vogiatzoglou. Following Vogiatzoglou's move to Copenhagen, Kordellas took on the project as a solo artist and subsequently founded OSM Tapes. Based in Thessaloniki, Greece, Kordellas has been staging nights under the OSM moniker since 2016, hosting both local and International artists across a range of venues and spaces. As an artist, Opioid Slot Machine operates in the darker corners of electronic music, with his sets oscillating between EBM, Industrial, Dark Wave, Experimental, Techno and Power Electronics.

Romphea is a DJ/producer based in Athens, focusing mostly on the techno electro and breakbeat aspects of electronic music. 
He has been co-running FERMA and holds a monthly residency on the Fade Radio ΔΙΑΔΙΚΤΥΑΚΗ ΑΠΑΤΗ radio show. He has released music on Tiger Weeds, Negative Sciences and FERMA.

Blackmoon77 (Feral Colony, Discos de Quebranto, Melodies Souterraines, Veleno Viola) has been a DJ/ sound experimentalist and member of the L.A. underground since the 90’s. A life long music junkie, she has been influenced by mostly the obscure and underground sounds of early Synth, industrial to Acid house music. Blackmoon77’s music productions reflect the unique perspective and authenic understanding of experimentation with  sound and texture. Recently she has released an Alpha Sect remix she produced with her partner Mick Wills on Veleno Viola. As a special tribute Blackmoon77’ has specially curated a journey through music of the Masters of angsty overtones from her favorite machine mutants, wave punks and melodic maniacs. Enjoy.

We are delighted to welcome Extase Urbaine as the 16th guest on the Kaos London Podcast Series.

Hailing from Greece, DJ and producer Extase Urbaine has been gaining momentum, achieving international recognition in the electronic music scene with performances at renowned clubs such as Berlin's OXI, Amsterdam's RADION, and Athens' Astron, in addition to notable appearances at major events like the ADD festival in the Greek capital.

His DJ sets cross weave genres and scenes, blending everything from techno and electro to acid and trance-y explorations, or, as he aptly describes it, ‘body music for all bodies’.

While DJing remains his true passion, Extase’s own productions have garnered attention for their distinctive synth-wave orientation. With acclaimed releases already on Soil and Ferma records and an upcoming debut EP in the works.
