Hot To The Touch Episode 251

The first half of this episode of Funkier Sounds was very much a Southport Weekender affair, thanks to me making my second visit there last weekend. It was, with one exception, all tracks I’d heard there, so after a little warm up it was more or less wall to wall soulful house with a splash of gospel house for good measure. I ended my hour with something brand new from me, that will be available for a free download later this week. 

For hour 2 it was time to hand over to Alessandro Oliveira, a DJ and radio host from Brazil. Alessandro has kindly invited me to be on his show, and I’ll be his guest this week! Alessandro’s mix is a brilliant disco house selection, but not that slightly annoying type of jacking disco house - this is refined, beefed up interpretations of classics, with a few lesser known gems in there too. It really is very good!

Sonokinesis stands for electronic music with heart, depth – and versatility. As a teenager I was captivated by the freedom and euphoria of the rave culture – a passion that never faded. From my first mixer through Virtual DJ and Traktor to professional productions in Studio One, I’ve taught myself everything.

A turning point was meeting Royer on SoundCloud. He introduced me to Studio One and encouraged me to produce my own tracks on a professional level. This collaboration has shaped my sound and helped me refine my musical vision.

I don’t just produce Techno – I work across genres: from Deep House, Melodic and Progressive to experimental, atmospheric and cross-genre sounds – always aiming to carry emotions and stories. I’ve never spent large sums on reach; instead, I’ve relied on organic growth and real listeners. In less than a year I’ve reached over 77,000 streams on SoundCloud – not through bought plays, but through passion, authenticity and consistent work. Every track, every set is part of my journey.
