My latest upload is a collaboration with my dear friend Jo Fletcher. She is a classically-trained in the violin and piano, and it turns out she also has a very good ear for arranging and mastering dance music!

We worked on this remix for 6 hours on a hungover Sunday afternoon, fuelled by a few recovery beers!

This week's special guest was Black Truffle, a DJ, Producer, Restauranteur and avid vinyl collector. For his own productions he takes rare disco gems and transforms them into new and inventive edits, which you can mainly find on vinyl, with a few occasional digital releases. "For this one I went for the “almost italo” sound of late 70s disco - think early sequenced synths, orchestrated breaks, erotic lyrics in Italian and all the other good stuff that was the foundation of later italo, house and disco. Greg was joined this week by Paul Diamond from Newcastle, England. Paul has DJ’d around the many pubs & clubs of the North-East since finding his love of dance music, playing his usual style of funky soulful house & disco. He's also always had a soft spot for edits so you’ll usually find the odd 1 or 2 popping up in his sets.

This week's show was a special episode of remixes, edits and mashups of well-known tracks, reinvented and given new life by artists such as DJ Ivan Santana, Fingerman, Andy Buchan, Dario Caminita and HallMighty. 

My special guest for the second hour was Royal Funk,  a veteran DJ from Germany who recently turned his hand to production and is now a rising star of the remix and edit scene, having released several dozen tracks in the past year. His set today is mostly his own material.

The 11th in my series of 80s remixes. Released in 1987, this track reached number 2 in the Billboard charts, but didn't quite make the UK Top Ten, peaking at 13. However, it remains one of my favourite Peter Gabriel songs and I hope you like my remix :-)

Ep 284: Feel Good Friday Show (Pete and Greg's 2025 Faves)

 A live set recorded at a party on New Year's Day.  Wishing you all a wonderful 2026.

New Year's Day 2026

London-based DJ and producer Pete Ellison has been spinning music for 25 years and has a passion for funk and disco, blending sounds of the 70s with house beats, vocal samples and chunky basslines.

He broadcasts a weekly show on NDC Radio called the "Feel Good Friday Show", with a special guest each week from the Nu-Disco world. The show won the award of "Best Radio Show" at the OGV Music Awards in 2022. 

He's had releases on Super Spicy Records, Spincat Music, Discoholics Anonymous, Mango Sounds, Discography Lessons, Spa In Disco, Duchesse and Hot Digits. Two of his tracks have hit the Number 1 spot on Juno Download.  

He runs a London DJ collective called Serendipity who throw underground events and boat parties. He has played at dozens of London clubs,  and has played at Wilderness, Secret Garden Party, boat parties, woodland raves, Ibiza pool parties and even the dungeon of a French chateau. Long DJ sets are a speciality, with his longest ever DJ performance being an epic 12-hour set.

Pete is also part of The Disco Waltons, a group of International DJs and Disco Lovers who came together during lockdown through their love of music. They host a Sunday night show on NDC Radio, playing on rotation with special guests

As well as Funk, Soul and Disco, he plays Melodic Techno, House and Progressive House
