Episode 38: Feel Good Friday Radio Show (special guest DJ BK)

Black Light Disco returns to the myhouseradio.fm airwaves with wind turbines set to ‘Full On’ to enter our disco slipstream. 

Starting things off for this week’s show is our host and BLD resident, Goz - fresh from a gruelling transatlantic trip to fix the phase emitters at the top of BLD Towers. Expect some corkers to be pulled out of his rucksack of grooves! 

Our guest this week is Italian DJ, producer / remixer - the one and only Mauro Vecchi! 

Mauro has been self-confessed rhythm addict since the 1990s, and preaches the word of funk, disco, soulful house and anything with a groovy feeling and positive vibe. His sets spin from downtempo grooves up to quality disco/house, from vinyl to digital it makes no difference to him; the most important thing is good music! Mauro's passion for music shines through in everything he does. Always active in programming for clubs and events in his area and beyond, Mauro’s music can be heard on monthly shows including Uptown Disco Session in U-FM Radio (Rome), The Word Is Groove -  Radio RapTZ (Paris) and in his very popular Mixcloud channel.

Mauro also started his own Bandcamp page where you can find plenty of tasty edits and remixes, but above all he publishes first official tracks on And Friends Records and place some edits in prestigious collections like Discoholics Anonymous and Yacht Disco Edits / Too Slow To Disco.
A regular artist appearing on the excellent ‘And Friends’ VA series, Discoholics Anonymous Recordings and the prestigious Too Slow To Disco Series, Mauro is fully immersed in all things groovy and we are so delighted to have him on for his BLD debut. You’re gonna love it!!

I also managed to cram in several new bits from Mauro Vecchi, Hotmood, Ezirk & Discoholic Ken and Henry Navarro.
 
In hour 2 I’m honoured to hand over the controls to Evil Smarty, who brings us an excellent hour of disco goodness, stunning reworks and funky tunes, all expertly selected and mixed. Lee packs in hot tracks from some of today’s very best producers like Monsieur Van Pratt, Ian Ossia, Conan Liquid, Da Lukas and Nick Reach Up.
 
I’m absolutely thrilled to get Lee on the show, he’s a producer and DJ I’ve admired for several years and I’ve got loads of his tracks, and I’m happy to have struck up a friendship with him during lockdown. He’s showed me loads of support, has tuned into a lot of my livestreams, and is the man responsible for Funkier Radio moving to Stream101. So for all of this I’m massively grateful, and he’s turned in an absolute stormer of a guest mix too! The Black Light Disco Show depth charges into the swimming pool on myhouseradio.fm wearing its super tight speedos and ready for another go on the water flume.

Hosting the show live from the sun terrace at BLD Towers we have Esteban aka Ste Hendry, who is slapping on the Factor Funk ahead of treating us to another eclectic set packed full of sunshine grooves and tropical breezes. 

Joining us tonight we have a very, very special guest to take on the mantle for the second hour - the one and only Fran Deeper! Hailing from the sunshine island of Mallorca, Spain, Fran is the Head Honcho of the huge Spa In Disco and Boîte Records labels. 

Fran Deeper is without a doubt one of the most influential dudes on the Disco / Nu-Disco scene. His extensive music experience and unique style has seen him play in some of the most prestigious DJ booths all over the world from Madrid to Mexico City, Ibiza to Tulum, London, San Francisco, Marseille, Jakarta, Barcelona, Milan, Stockholm or Bali, to name a few. This guy is a DJ who feels most at home playing to the crowds on the dance floor, and we cannot wait for you to hear what he has in store for his BLD debut. This week's special guest is Martin Petersson, aka MartinMax, a DJ of immense talent who has been spinning tunes since the vinyl days of the late 80s

Originally hailing from portside Gothenberg, he moved out to Moscow more than a decade ago, playing and running clubs in the vibrant Moscow clubscene. He quickly gained traction on the local dance scene, playing at Pacha Moscow amongst others.

One of Martin’s key traits are his profound knowledge of music, which he combines with an instinctive feeling for the pulse of the dance floor. Martin’s passion are reflected in every set he makes and has secured him a growing following of dedicated Discoholics.

MartinMax spans multiple genres from House to Disco, Funk and slow jams and it's obvious that his skills have been honed to perfection over three decades.

Since 2020 he's been part of Hot To The Touch by Discoholics Anonymous which airs weekly on Prime Radio in Greece to an audience of over 300.000.
