A musician, DJ and producer, Monsieur Van Pratt has been making headway in the Nu-Disco scene from his home of Mexico City.

Strongly influenced by 70's disco, 80's funk and jazz music, his production is an amalgamation of these sounds, finely tuned for maximum effect. Four original compositions of disco grooves, sumptuous sax and jazzy keys. Proper!!

Coming off a run of singles and an LP on Ubiquity Records, UK DJ/Producer Tigerbalm (aka Rose Robinson) brings her vibrant global sound to the Razor-N-Tape catalog with the ‘Nina EP’.

Of the two original songs that grace the A side, ‘Nina’ is a pulsing boogie affair with driving percussion, catchy chants, and punctuating sax. ‘Sisters’ shows a more Balearic side of tropical with African guitar work and lilting soulful vocals. The B-side sees two distinct remix takes on the title track, the first by RNT regular Elado who bumps up the tempo for a stomping acidic club mix, and Voilaaa who transforms the song into a driving and authentic classic Zouk arrangement.

We are back with another fresh EP all the way from Puebla / Mexico guided by our new uprising talents: The Velvet Stripes A.K.A. Leo Cid & Abu Barrett, delivering four incredible cuts filled with joy and freshness blended in perfection. For our magic opening we start with 'Rumba, Samba, Rambo' sampling a classic 90's Euro-House anthem with a prominent bassline and latin piano chords transforming it into a superb tropical cut ready to hit all dance floors. For our second course 'Dancin' Shoes' comes in the form of a magical disco potion with sexy - hypnotizing female vocals, arpeggiated synths for the lower end and outstanding drums making it a must-have boogie gem on our disco list. Our third cut 'Tony Grey' arrives as a tribute edit to the Nigerian master itself with a bumpy bassline, drums filled with steroids and extraordinary synths giving this number a modern taste to it. For our last but not least 'Instant Funk' brings balance to the release with a modern tropical approach with its rich percussion section, super fresh guitar riffs and mystical trumpets. Keep your eyes peeled with these young fellas !!
