Session Victim have become something of a phenomenon since their inception a little over 12 years ago. They bring a sense of fun and unrivalled energy to their live shows and DJ sets which instantly connects with any crowd in front of them and their charming disregard for musical boundaries ensures that you never know quite what to expect or where they’re heading next. When not feeding their addiction to pinball machines, the duo of Hauke Freer and Matthias Reiling are constantly creating, keeping things fresh by forming labels such as Retreat run by Hauke and Quarion, Pen & Paper run by the duo themselves and Hauke’s new baby Save The Books. Last year’s Needledrop LP for Night Time Stories saw them step away from the dance floor and head into deep, downtempo mode to great effect, and now Delusions Of Grandeur welcome back Session Victim for the release of Two Crowns which sees them edging back towards clubbier sounds, albeit with their trademark live instrumentation and highly musical approach.

The EP gives us three original tracks which move smoothly from the low- slung funky wobble of the title track with it’s stabbing analogue synths and house not house live drum groove, through to the lush, expansive sounds of Village Youth. Once again, Session Victim have created a collection of tracks which give us a sense of nostalgia for early 90’s Fila Brazilia/Solid Doctor records on the influential Porky label. A world where trippy spoken word samples, cut up breakbeats, deep pads and sine wave basslines live in perfect harmony and a sense of optimism flows through every note. Let’s face it, we can all do with some of that right now!

Ouch. Summer's over and we're left with a UV hangover and a Club Mate-sized hole in our nogs. Luckily, Allergy Season has the cure: "Triptan" -- four tracks of tangled tech by Head Hurts. Perfect for the back to school blues.

Head Hurts is Martti Kalliala, the Berlin-based producer who, along with Ville Haimala, forms the delirious duos Amnesia Scanner and the late Renaissance Man. In 2010 Martti started deconstructing and reconstructing house and techno tracks with lacerated layers: clips of clips and rips of rips. Finnish-born Kalliala is also an architect -- there's a creative destruction in these retrofits, as if you decimated a row of Soviet tower blocs, and built a freaky playground from the rubble. The result is a DJ toolbox for DJ's who speak DJ: morphing, shifting, jilted shapes that slice through the air--grazing classic dance but staying just out of reach.

"Triptan" by Head Hurts will be out on Allergy Season on September 25th, and available at your local pharmacy.

Hans Peeman, perhaps better known as Junktion or as one half of Fouk with label mate and friend Daniel Leseman, also has another side project. New Franklin Theory is his lesser known alias, one focusing a bit less on sampling and more on melodic explorations, with a lot more synth work and instrumentation. He's only released under the moniker once before, a 2 track 10" on his own native Outplay Records that perhaps went a little bit under-appreciated. Now he's back once again on the label with a 5 track mini album of sorts, entitled "Chemical Boogie", to really showcase what he can do.

Peeman's signature percussion is perhaps best heard on the opener, Andromeda Beach, a funk and boogie fuelled jam that's closest to what we've come to know him for. Our premiere today and the A2 on the record, Homeward, features some fantastically spacey cosmic pads and a rumbling bass, lending it a bittersweet, introspective sound. Closing off the first side of the record is Afterburner, an uptempo groover with some addictive synthesized horn-like melodies. Ladies and gentlemen, we have liftoff.

On the flip, the B1, In Orbit, takes you for a ride. The funky bassline and deep rhodes chords paired with the interplanetary atmospheres and effects do the title justice. Finally, The Holtzman Effect, named after a fictional scientific phenomenon, caps off the EP with a hooking subterranean bass that sends you wiggling your butt straight into alien territory.It's refreshing to see a producer so well known for a particular sound continue to explore new avenues and evolve as personal tastes change and mature, but still retain some of that flavour that made his music so irresistible in the first place.

@westcoast-goddess is a new alias of a Berlin-based producer that has previously released on labels like 100% Silk, Omena, Heart To Heart and Peach Discs under the alias Videopath. Under the new alias Westcoast Goddess, he goes on a spiritual journey to explore soulful and classic house sounds.

New Belgian based label @penelopemusicbe drops the debut release "Truth Rainbow" which has already seen early support coming in from Tensnake, Shanti Celeste, and Marquis Hawkes.

We here at Discobelle can premiere the EP title track, "Truth Rainbow" is a joyful and bumping track with the warm sounding keys and irresistible congas driving you straight for the dancefloor.

Manchester's Yadava steps up to the plate for the next installment of the High Praise Edits series. A member of the cities infamous party collective So Flute collective, Yadava has steadily been making a name for himself as a incredible selector with productions to match (including recent release on the likes of Church and Banoffee Pies records). He also holds down the 'Expansions' show on NTS Radio alongside co-host Contours.

With his incredible knack for weaving spiritual, soulful and uplifting energies throughout his music, it's no wonder we had to get him on board for High Praise Edits Vol IV.

Sable Blanc is releasing his debut full-length album, "Homecoming", on Salin Records, also a first for the label itself. Originally slated to be an EP of tracks corresponding to memories of a recent trip to New York, the idea grew into a full-fledged LP as work began. "Homecoming" alludes to returning to New York, a place where the producer spent several years living and forming memories in his teens. Inspired by the colours, energy and peace of the city, Sable Blanc also chose photos taken by his friend that inspired each of the tracks on the album. Salin's very own Daria Salin then took the photos, developed them as cyanotype (an analogue development technique, same as on the album cover itself) and created a booklet, a special additional feature to the album.Musically, the album shows a developing maturity in Sable Blanc's work. Expanding his range to a variety of styles and incorporating new techniques from various genres, the album really is meant to be taken in as one whole listening experience. Today however, we're premiering just one track off the album, Limo & Theatre. Teaming up with trumpet player Reuben Lewis (you may have heard some of his work via Loure's output or Australia's 30/70 collective), together they deliver a laid-back, jazzy tune meant to be taken in within a relaxing environment. Nestled among the crispy drums and alluring trumpets are some breezy and carefree keys that really help to transport your mind on a journey. We can see this one being taken in with headphones, sitting in a high-rise while watching the life on busy streets of New York buzz by down below.Limo & Theatre isn't the only superb track on the album. There are influences ranging from drum and bass to ambient on the record so be sure to grab your copy and sit down with a copy of the photo pamphlet and take it all in as it's meant to be.
